@gotham61 My first "sighting" of a 'supercar' was not a Countach, but when I was 6 I saw a purple Ferrari Testarossa on the highway driving on the way to live in upstate NY. It drove right by us, my brother and I went bonkers with excitement. lol! That was in the mid 1980s.

My 72YO Dad (who has plenty of money thanks to a generous final-salary pension) went to buy a new car the other day.

Obviously a small runaround would have been ideal, but the slick bastard sales guy deliberately confused him into getting a stupid £100k high-performance turbo sports model. Almost immediately he rammed it into a wall (with Mum inside) at 90mph, and now has been told he will never walk again.

I BLAME YOU FOR THIS CLARKSON (& the BBC)- I am now taking legal advice.
