Excellent. Daniel you were amazing, just lay off the coke mate and you could be again. I wonder if all the vocal overdubs and double tracks were done manually or with the antares plug-in that makes anyone sound like the beach boys. I don't doubt daniel has the talent to do it all himself but it would have been bloody time consuming.

@grayk02 With the amount of effort they put into Diorama as a whole, I seriously doubt they would cheat his vocals. The actual album sleeve even reads, "Diorama was made without using pitch correction software. This technology 'corrects' notes that are sung or played out of tune and it has become increasingly popular in recent years. Silverchair choose not to use this computer software on their albums as it's their personal belief that such artificial perfection diminishes music." Dan's the man.

@HungarianMafioso they use multilayered voices of himself but. that requires digital manipulation. but i mean so does everyone. and daniel johns voice is absolutely marvellous. its also funny that the new songs they played last year had this terrible vocal manipulator over his voice. too bad they disbanded indefinately after givin us hope of a new album.

@mablob Of course, to make all those beautiful harmonies, Dan had to double and sometimes triple-track his vocals. But he didn't use any autotune. I think that's what makes Diorama so authentic and sound so real.

I had no idea they had disbanded. That's such a bummer. Personally, Silverchair had been going downhill since after Diorama, but I still would've liked to hear studio versions of their new songs they played live a few times. Thanks for the heads up.
