@poundsounds2009 : He said he was born in Ohio. Does that make him from Ohio? His early career days were when he was living in "Spanish Harlem." That was where this song was written. Which I doubt was in Syracuse........but anyway.

In 1980 Benny Mardones released a song called 'Into The Night', it was a minor hit.Years later in 1989, a DJ at KZZP, a radio station in Arizona, ran a segment titled "Where Are They Now?" The most popular question was "Whatever happened to the guy who sang 'Into the Night'?" Then a DJ for Pirate Radio in Los Angeles, added "Into the Night" to his playlist. Radio stations across the country followed suit and "Into the Night" went all the way to the top ten on the U.S. Billboard chart!

@Cybrludite It's a strange song, but the real story is much more innocent then one could think by analysing the lyrics. It was about a girl with some family emotional problems that needed love. I guess she was attractive as well, but the love they knew she needed (they, the pair of song writers) was not necessarily romantic love.

If by "strange" you mean "creepy & disturbing in a way that leads to sending your neighbors postcards every time you move", I'll agree. Julian Lennon had family emotional issues, but "Hey Jude" doesn't make it sound like McCartney wanted to bed him.

@VoodooPolitico Yeah, I guess I should have written that their story now is such and such. But you're right, there is too much romance in the lyrics. I can't measure my love, there's nothing to compare it to. Yeah, I think as the years went by and having such a love affair was considered more taboo in our society, perhaps that's were the possible cover-up story came into play.
