Wish some ppl would read and comprehend before posting dumb stuff to me! Where do I say I 'hate' (stupid thing to say) Vaganova students?! I'm devoted to ballet and adore the Russian style & training. Retired from English company now but if I had my time again I would train in the Russian method, not British, and teach that style. I repeat, these students are (were) still in training and therefore allowed to be less than perfect - that's why they are students, they're still learning!
@9bubblestars If you're a prima ballerina, then I'm the Queen! Give me a break. If you're so bloody brilliant at this art, then do it yourself and compare!
@AriaInThe Well said! Pehaps the prima ballerina could tell us which major international ballet company she is with (and WHEN she was awarded that status) so we can watch out for her when she is on tour. The company is bound to feature her, being their star dancer and one of the VERY FEW PRIMA BALLERINAS ON THE PLANET! Actually there must be vids on YT we can catch her on? Of course she could just be a wannabe amateur with no idea of professional training. We'll see.
@MrKLT1945 wow your really mean on youtube! Dont call this girl out because she claims shes good! you shouldnt need proof. How are we supposed to know that you're not a wannabe amauteur??? For all we know you could be!!!!!! Chill Out......
@AriaInTheSky I can't understand why I'm not allowed to dislike this video.Maybe I put it harshly, but I'm not obligated to like it.I've done 12 years of classical ballet & I've danced at the National Ballet Theater of my country for 2 years.Due to physical problems I had to stop. However,I'll always adore ballet and therefore, have high expectations from 7th graders, especially from Vaganova Ballet Company. And please stop mentioning the prima ballerina stuff. It was just an expression. The end.
@9bubblestars No such thing as the Vaganova Ballet Company, it's the Vaganova Academy. Feeds into the Mariinsky (Kirov) Company, if they R very lucky not 2 B rejected at the end of each year. They R still not the finished article! Unlike the West, they R not chasing bloody bits of RAD/ISTD exams (even in the RBS) which R given away like sweets & make girls believe they can go on 2 a career. How many BRITISH-BORN & TRAINED PR. BALLERINAS R IN THE RB? ZERO, they R all foreigners - better trained!
@9bubblestars P.s I danced at Covent Garden for more than 2 years (!) but never good enough artistically to be more than a corphyee. At no time in my live would I ever have dreamed of describing myself as prima ballerina. I could never be that arrogant to use it as a casual description of myself to others. I also play the piano but would never describe myself as a concert pianist either! Definitely the end!
talk about wicked fricken skinny. but there was some wind up in those inside piroettes and that girl kinda lost her balance. but hey, they're way taller and better than i am. and a year younger, no less.
@ninavagabunda Some have it easier than other, but regardless NOONE gets it handed to them nomatter how giftet you are, it's all down to you to work on your weakness', and we ALL have different weakness'

he he i remember when i was young like them. I much more advanced then them but what they are doing is very difficult stuff for there age. Bravo girls.
This does look difficult, but even when some of the girls lost their balance or w.e they carried on, i think thats good, when i get things wrong i just stop or i get mad with myself or emotional loll. Its all about carrying on, which i find soo hard to do!
what level is this??? I'm training in the vaganova technique, but not at the actual academy, and we do it by levels NOT by grade. ive never heard of vaganova by grade... maybe grades and levels are the same thing..?
Yeah its the same. In my school we do "ballet 5" , "ballet six" etc. So they're in seventh grade which would be equivilant to level 7 in your case or ballet 7 in mine.
lol i wouldnt know....i dont do ballet.....just nice to watch....i think i know where ive heard it lol....i work in childcare and i think its a song played in the baby nursery when they are sleeping......maybe.....
Wow this reminds me of the excercises mr. slava gave us in level 4 (grade 4- I'm in a vaganova school too)! We couldn't do the stuff at all but he had us try and it was so good for us, looking back :)
How many grades are there in Vaganova then?
