  • 4:12-5:00 shows why she doesn't act anymore...

  • "I've always been a hat person"

  • the trampoline part with the teletubbies style music was kinda trippy :)

  • "I hear you have a trampoline."

  • The whole video is at best beyond ridiculous, I feel so embarrassed for her after watching this,,,,

  • Hey I wonder why so many comments talk about the trampoline scene saying that the music was bad...

    Oh... uh... em...

Nevermind, I think I found out why.

  • I wonder if she still has that collection?

  • this bitch act grown

  • If you think this is awkward, you should see the rest of the video. Jenny's segment is BY FAR the most watchable part of it.

  • What's with the clown music when she's jumping on the trampoline?

  • Wow...Mickey Rohrich, Meg Ryan, And Jane Fonda....what a well adjusted trust of people. I want to watch her watch this...I don't think she'd agree with nearly anything she said then.

  • This is so awkward! Could the questions be anymore cliche? Why not ask "Do you enjoy being happy?"

  • that was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

  • The music during the hat scene is so awkward haha. This is probably the strangest interview I've ever seen. i can't help but cringe at the 90's cheesiness. And the trampoline part...just...wow lol. I wonder if during this time Jenny was depressed about the acting thing and she was just putting on a show or if she was happy and enjoying her life thus far.

  • If I cold go back in time... yeah, I'd hit that. xD

I love you, Jenny Lewis. <3

  • LMFAO at the hat scene

  • the wizard was fuck awesome

  • How come she never mentions Rilo Kiley & her solo career, in this clip??

  • she was only fifteen then.. RK and her solo career haven't happened yet. now she's like 34 or something

  • i just slapped my own face thanks to your stupid comment....

  • lol,that trampoline music...

  • To think That was Jenny Lewis, Hahaha

  • the music in this is so ridiculous hahahaha

  • i heard jenny's mom became a drug addict

  • You mean families of child stars aren't stable? (Gasp)!

  • omfg i never knew that was her in the wizard!!!!!

  • Man, she could do an awesome Malon cosplay (from Zelda 64)!

  • I like her hair style, so old fashion, looks so nice! :)

  • What the heck is Rilo Kiley?

  • I have no idea, if only there was some way to search for things on the internet...

  • @boywithstars

It was a rhetorical question, I was just amused by the fact that you used the band to identify who she was.

Is her band really that popular? I don't know much about it.

  • @periechontology I think she is more well known for her music than for her acting at this point.

  • @boywithstars

lol well the people who knew her in the 80's didn't fall off the face of the earth, their just older now.

  • @boywithstars i fucking love you.

  • @periechontology rilo kiley is awesome listen to their album Under The Blacklight

  • Hat collection? HAWHAW(nelson from the simpsons style)

  • she is so hot back then

  • I really wish I could watch her bounce on a trampoline no.

  • So weird to see! Its crazy, listening to her voice even when she's just talking when she was younger sounds ALOT like her Rilo Kiley early singing voice. I'm so happy she became a musician!!!!

  • i kept expecting to hear her sing at any moment during the vid. Alas, no. If only she knew then what she knos now.

  • so this was before she dropped acid in Dixie?

  • dude the interviewer is kind of wooden.

  • i really like the music at during the trampoline part

  • that clark gable hat has made recent appearances on her tours

  • Well who would be happy...it's a dumb and awkward interview

  • She seems so awkward. I think it's very interesting to see now, after all the songs she wrote and interviews she gave as a grown-up. She clearly doesn't look happy to me, in this video. But she's pretending to be.

  • "you always know what day it is."

    "yeah, always." hahahaha

  • I am dying to meet Jenny Lewis just one time, so I can greet her with "So I hear you have a trampoline?"

  • WOWIE ZOWIE!

I watched all 7 minutes of this vid. I promosie Jenny! I'll stop using Aerosal Hair Spray and Aerosal cans!

  • I had the biggest thing for her since the Wizard lol

These 80's girls were the best...

  • man she rocked in the Wizard

  • this has nearly 100,000 views?!? rilo kiley must have more fans than I thought.

  • "i hear you have a trampoline" hahahahaha

  • This is probably the funniest video ever. Unintentionally, that is.

  • no downside haaaaa!

  • Oh my craps, Girl Talk with Jenny Lewis. That would be a pretty good collaboration (or just a pretty damn fine Gurl Tawk sample).

  • haha god damn this is so awkward

  • this is embarassing!

  • hilariousss

  • favorite actor, mickey rourke! ha! wow what a decade...so long ago now

  • She always reminds me of Meredith Grey. I feel like the sound of Jenny Lewis or Rilo Kiley go hand in hand with Grey's Anatomy.

  • In the start see does look like her doesn't she..

  • trampoline scene. i lol'd hard

  • wow, that should be the background during an animal collective performance.

  • aahahaha the music is the best part

  • was that her mom on the trampoline with her?

  • no that was me

  • i thought that she always resented her mother for making her act when she was a child?

  • well she is 15 in this interview...still brainwashed!

  • LOL @ her hawaiian short. I love Jenny Lewis.

  • ^-^ haha I love how she talks about recycling. I love her.

  • this is the most cracked out thing i have ever seen in my entire life.

  • thats a shitty interviewer, lol

  • just met her the other night

  • jenny lewis on trampoline whoo!!

"you really have to care about your planet, cuz without the planet we wouldn't be here" lol

  • this video is as old as me.

  • OMG! is that really her?

  • this interviewer seriously doesn't give a crap. lol.

  • I'm in love with her now, and i'm not to much older than she was in 1991, that's soooooooooo wierd

  • oh it is good to know that she had an awkward stage too...

  • she so cute

  • and how old are you?

    jokes lol

  • lmao, the awkward pauses! :D

  • Oh, the hats. Reminds me of something I would have done when i was younger.

Trampoline. Awkward. How long did we need to watching them jump with the awkward music?

I love Jenny Lewis, though, what a darling.

  • amen to that!!

    :)

  • all i can say is thank god for Rilo

  • aw... Jenny!

  • How embarrassing! Poor Jenny... it's nice to know about what she was like as a kid though (at least as accurately this interviewer helps express... or doesn't help...).

  • I totally have the same trampoline!

    This is pretty funny/

  • Wow, Jenny's got a terrible memory. I mean, I remember everything from when I was 2 and a half.

(What a fucking awful interviewer. Think about your vapid questions just a little harder).

  • its a syndrome.

  • does conor live next door to this house?

  • hahaha ha

  • wow she was a good actress. i had no idea that was her

  • if i was her i wouldve purged the world of this stuff a long time ago, just cus its the 90's.

  • omg this is too funny. even in the 90s she's "green." thanks for posting!

  • A lot of people were "green" in the early '90s. If you don't believe me, do a search on "Captain Planet." LOL

As for this video...OMG the trampoline scene is AWKWARD! And the music didn't help any...reminded me of Barney :p

  • the music is awful, the interviewer is bad, is a bit akward, but jenny is such a sweetheart.

  • lmfao. this is so awkward.

  • the hair!

  • This is beyond precious.

  • hahaha hat collections and trampolines, what could be better? hahahaha oh man.

  • This is so bad! The interviewer is so horrible. She's not even listening to her, she's just running through the list of preconcieved generic questions. She doesn't even care...THIS IS SO AWFUL. The best part is the hat collection! SO BAD. And the editing....This is just awful all around.

Also, Jenny sounds like she's reading a script.

  • This kinda makes me sad for some reason. She just seems way too adult here.

  • That's so embarrassing. I feel bad just watching it.

  • i think the highlight of the video is "do you know how to play nintendo"? lol thats great.

  • troop beverly hills!!!

  • Lol Jenny Jenny Jenny <3

    Awesomeness

  • hahaha the trampoline is like the star!

  • Wow! Who knew the singer of Rilo Kiley once was on the Golden Girls....She played Daisy, the Sunshine Cadet who Rose tries to get her teddy bear back from. Daisy was holding it hostage. Haha.

  • Haha wtf. And she became a musician?

  • I adore Jenny Lewis. I'd be honored if she burped in my face, Playcircus. Haha, nah... I would prefer an autograph. You can't hang a burp on your wall.

  • why do ppl make such rude comments? why are you watching videos that you hate? search for ones you like so that you can leave nice comments for christ's sake.

  • i hear you have a trampoline.

  • I met her once, she was a real asshole to me, I asked her for an autograph and she burped right in my face.

  • punk rawk!

  • Q: If you could work with one person, who would it be?

A: Meg Ryan, definitely. Meg or Blake Sennett.

  • shes gross weird

  • girls are so smart. @ 15 i was a totally insecure selfish freak. i don't think i'm even this conscious or socially aware now.

  • this makes me laugh...i like how they film her and her mom jumping on the trampoline for like two minutes straight. she used to be so....nerdy kind of haha but i love her

  • hahaah! most definitely! the 2 full minutes of bouncing, hilarious!

  • the soundtrack to this show is just swell. The only time I could tell she is the same person as she is now is when she puts on the first hat.

  • i just love her. she would be perfect for me if she was still my age.

  • What is funny about this guy is that he calls folks idiots, but then says something idiotic himself. Jenny sings in at least two Postal Service songs, "Nothing Better" and "We Become Silhouettes." She is cool and you should be too.

  • That's not her in the recorded version of "Nothing Better."

I think she's considered the third member of the Postal Service but I guess we'll have to see how involved she is in the next album to see if she's really in the band.

  • Yup, that's Jen Wood, she's way cooler!

  • HOLY SHIT! jenny and her mom used to be man show juggies! nice keith harring shirt, mom.

  • uhhhhhhhh ahahahahaha.

  • my life ambition is to defeat Jenny Lewis in a Super Mario 3 Challange. That would be pretty sweet.

  • That's one of the most awesome things I have ever heard.

  • She was in the touring version of the Postal Service, where she sang all of Jen Wood's parts too, and the Postal Service sucks just a little bit less than Rilo Kiley so it was worth mentioning... idiot.

  • Ha! Cute!

  • "calendars... u always know what day it is!"

    need i say any more?

    "watch the jello wiggle"

  • the trampoline part reminded me of a clockwork orange =/

  • the interviewer is awful

  • she had to send her to acting.. how else would she buy that damn rabbit fur coat?

  • oh man, this is amazing!

  • I wish that I was friends with Jenny Lewis at age 15.I could find out for certain if she can really play nintendo.

  • wow, i really love jenny lewis. like whoa.

  • "..cause without our planet we wouldn't be here.."

    Wow, that was deep..lol

  • yeah, hahaha. you know she used aerosol for those feathered bangs.

    the music was...interesting...

what the fuck was up with the 10 minute long jumping session.

"I was of poor folk"....my ass Jenny... ;D

  • Oh please, she was fifteen!

  • hahaha Mom in a Keith Haring tshirt...

    "can you really play Nintendo?"

  • That music is a trip.

  • Is it just me or does she seem more quirky now? Here she doesn't seem as ....indie. Either way, she's amazing!

  • surreal and revelatory but a little voyeuristic. kind of a good creepy.

  • whatever that means.

  • I'd fuck her then. I'd fuck her now.

  • You couldn't then (eww) and you can't now.

  • Yeah...she would probably birth retard children anyways, with mutualfunmanager as a father.

  • Jenny is great!

  • Oh, Jenny. So awkward at fifteen. I love her so much.

  • "Frankly Scarlett, I don´t give a damn!"

    She was good!

  • oh gode wryy!!! nooo jenny, nooo. :P amazing.

  • this is great

  • I'm old enough to remember Jenny Lewis' "illustrious" acting career. She makes a much more impressive musician. All I have to say is that I'm glad there are no cheesy interviews of me at fifteen. This made me so uncomfortable; poor JLew.

  • Two minutes of jumping on a trampoline to circus music.... I love it.

  • her mom sent her in acting, cause she needed the money :D

  • bizarre stuff

  • care about your world

  • What the heck kind of film had Mickey Rourke done at this point in time that a 15 year old could have seen?!?!

  • aw, a clothes horse with a social conscience even then.

  • that's hilarious

  • Hahahaha

    Oh God Jenny.

<3 You make my life complete.

  • this was the best

  • The next time somebody posts video of Jenny Lewis on a trampoline I would appreciate it if they could make it more like The Man Show.

  • poor Jenny you were so brainwashed back then... how lucky she is that she finally found her calling in life

  • she was so young at that time, snif, nostalgy =(

  • Jenny Lewis is seriously my idol...And after hearing all the awful things she said about her mom on "Rabbit Fur Coat", its so weird to see the funny interaction with her mom.

    Oh, the 90s.

  • you're assuming all the things she said about her mom in "Rabbit Fur Coat" were true. I read that it was mostly fiction (per Jenny in a NPR interview)

  • Well, that's what she said..and while I'm sure she took a few liberties in the story, I'd wager the majority of it is true. I think the most telling part of this interview is when she said her mom decided to put her into acting and then quickly "corrected" that by trying to imply that it was actually her idea. Cute, interesting, hokey, and sad. This clip's got it all.

  • ahahahha

  • Good kid. When I was 15 I thought I was a Republican and I was trying to convince myself that we didn't need to worry about the environment. She was far ahead of most teens.

  • It's hilarious to hear her talk about acting. For so many reasons. Maybe this is why she hated it so much.

    But the hats. That's classic.

  • this is so akward, even to watch

  • Exactly!

  • She gets even more beautiful every day. Sounds impossible but it's true.

  • Jenny Lewis says care about things other than yourslef. Take that!

  • "I hear you have a trampoline"

  • That was amazing. It's mindblowing to see her talk about acting when you mostly hear her sing.

  • jenny is freaking amazing

  • She was saying that her REAL mom got a part in the movie, but that Shelley Long played her mom in the movie. It was sort of confusing.
