Is there any negative for using special abilities like "Group Hug"? I've never played the game but have played "Paper Mario" and any time a team member uses a status altering ability that is not an item it drains the "Flower Power" meter used to do specials. I fail to see a meter like that fall as "Group Hug" is constantly used to bring the team back to full health.

I dont hate those games I love them to but they dont have the feeling and the dedication this game had back then. So yes im up to date. But if you cant see the diferences is your opinion.

@doonymacc the differences are the incredibly hard optional bosses (culex as compared to hooktail reskin in PM TYD), and being developed by square, pre enix... the newer rpg's are fun but miss that post-game factor and item collection (in paper mario at least it's downplayed slightly)

This game took me around 10yrs to beat. I never took the time to power up correctly or get the right weapons. When I beat it I was so excited one of the best gaming moments of my life and this is still my favorite game.
