Fire Zweihander +10 does about 600 something per swing if i remember correctly. It made that fight a fucking joke for me in NG+. But i love it, it heleped me destroy Blighttown and New Londo Ruins...those fucking shit holes gave me some serious traumas on my first playthrough. Fuck...
Go in with full Havels set, two hand your strongest weapon and activate iron flesh when you get to one of the kings...... you don't need to heal once with all that going on. Thats straight up tanking right there.
The first time I fought this boss, I had to fight five of them at the same time. Still beat it on my first try, though. Although to be fair, I had all the Silver Knight equipment upgraded to +5 (farmed Seath's room for 99 Twinkling Titanite) and a Black Knight Greataxe +5.

I'm level 77 and I can't even kill these dudes with 20 estus heavy armor and +10 claymore. Weird as how I killed these guys level 55 with silverknight sword medium armor and 10 estus 0_o.
After finally defeating them I could say their homing attack is more dangerous than I thought cause after it would disappear I'd still take damage I'd still take damage. That and their soul grab attack does have a tracking system which gave myself a bunch of trouble.
I'm on the third playthrough and they can kill me in two hits, seems like I need to dodge more. Once you're on NG++ and higher, super armor doesn't help. They just seem to do way to much damage, you really have to know how to fight the bosses.
Hey Epic, just a quick question. Is the Crest Shield a pretty good shield? I only ask cause I see that you're using the Crest Shield and I use it a lot, too. I just want to make sure I'm not using something crappy compared to most shields.

On my first attempt I went in with my Raw Estoc and planned on being agile and dodging it did next to no damage and I got wiped real quick.
I then decided to just wear all Smoughs armor and use my strongest weapon and I beat him pretty easily. I used the same strategy on the gravelord(but with Havel's ring) and things went pretty well with me killing him in 6 or 7 two handers.
Kinda sucks since I liked having a play style similar to yours, but now I play tank just to get by the easy way.

500 is a good damage, I've seen weapons do 700, not even that, 2000. Oh well, he wasn't high level, that's when the game really pushes you. NG+ 2500 damage, pretty common.

@iAlvinLi Any strong weapon will work. The main point is to two-hand it and save stamina as much as you can. You'll be fine, especially if you've upgraded it a bit.
@iAlvinLi I used a Lightning Spear +5, two handed it and took on the first 3 kings with Iron Flesh on. For the last one, I switched to my Pyromancy Flame +14 and spammed him with Great Combustion. Pyromancy really helps against these guys
My big worry so far, after killing 2 Black Knight and getting nothing, is there a chance you can kill them all and get absolutely nothing from them? Or is there some point where it just gives you the shit
@slingshotmcoy when you go back to the undead asylum there is a black knight in front of the cell you started, he always dropped the black knight sword for me, but i don't know if it's really 100%... but even if he drops nothing, at least late in the game there will be an area with respawning black knights...
get the golden serpent ring and a lot of humanity if you wanna increase the drop rate

Gathering ideas from the comments, apparently that happens when the timer runs into the point when the next king is to appear. Since, technically, there are only supposed to be four kings in the "Four Kings" boss fight, it just times out and kills you. It appears to be unable to be dodged, and is an instant kill. This is probably to prevent people from glitching out the game and spawning infinite kings for whatever reason.
i was helping people online and i got summoned to help a guy against this boss and this was the first time i saw this boss and holy crap there was 4 kings and we barely won
@HippyManPL level and gear dont mean anything in this game really, its about skill, patience, and how much you're willing to tone that skill and raise that level of patience. i would recommend playing when you arent tired or stressed because it takes alot of concentration to get through this game successfully
@Misterblou1 Believe you have to keep it on until you've defeated the Four Kings. After that you can warp to the Abyss bonfire without the ring and you won't die.
@mindbend13 one's in undead parish near the church that the gargoyles are on top of, one is in new londo ruins (near the beginning, near the hollows), and the last one is in anor londo, up the stairs from the fog gate to ornstein and smough.
@mindbend13 The 1st one you'll find is near the Undead Church, head right out of the church and you'll find him. He's one of the most useful for standard reinforcement/divine. It's hard to explain the rest, but the wiki's are a good place to find out.
Just a quick note about the miracle "Vow of Silence".
I tried using it on the Four Kings to prevent them casting their magic attacks but it didn't appear to work at all. I thought it might work since it's v. similar to the anti-magic field from Demon Souls which worked on the 'Fools Idol' boss.
So if you're thinking about using VoS, because you're struggling to dodge their magic, then try the wood grain ring instead so you can physically roll out of the way.
a fun challenge would be going to ash lake getting the dragon head and torso stone going in there with no wep and killing them with hand to hand no magic or sheild
I dunno about that last move but I have faced the Kings in a constant 4 Active King state for a long time. Lots of dodges but sometimes they get you from your blind spot.
Finally i DEFEATED the Four Kings.I used the easier strategy.Using heavy armor and stay in front of the kings I know is not as cool as without the heavy armor but i think it is useful.

@senglord There's another chance to get it by killing the knight in Tomb of the Giants, be wary as this one sneaks up on you, possibly while you're fighting a skeleton giant or skeleton dog. To counter this, listen for his footsteps and then retreat back to a safe area to fight him.
The other way to get it is to kill the black knight in the final area of the game, Kiln. This knight, like the rest in the Kiln respawns, allowing you to farm Black Knight weapons and titanite chunks!
is their going to be a ng+ strategy for 4 kings? the 1st playthrough fight was challenging, but this fights been like everest for me, & I'm trying to get the Beatrice gear set + darkwraith gear set so I've been dropping & farming humanity almost constantly, I'm 103, 2 maxed pyromancy hands, & + 9 elite knight gear with the dark wood grain ring, what gear would you reccomend I level up? lol I'm trying & dying every time.
@automaticspaz The problem with 4 kings is that the fight strategy is really simple. Dodge their attacks, and hit them as hard as you can. But the hard part is executing. Dodge roll THROUGH horizontal swipes, circle strafe vertical attacks and stabs. Two-hand your highest damage weapon and mash out some R2s.
Stamina grass helps. Weapon buffs help if you have them. I don't know your stats so I can't recommend a weapon, but I did it on NG+ with the Balder Side Sword as dex
@EpicNameBro I think the problem is I don't favor a build I just level up till I can use what I want, what's been killing me is the AOE & getting swarmed by kings, I've had some minor success with pyromancy but none of my other stats are up to par. I'll keep your advice in mind & I studied your strategy so I've been getting a lot farther since. & I appreciate you taking the time out to respond, it means a lot as a member of your following.
@EpicNameBro omg everybody I beat the 4 kings, I even beat a 5th king, it took me many tries but I did it using a black knight halberd in Black iron gear + 5, with the moonlight butterfly shield, the grass crest shield, & the mask of the father, I killed them all with ironflesh on now please quit giving me tips.
@Haz3dNightfall thanks for the advice my bro :) I already killed them about a week ago, black knight halber plus 5, black iron set, & crystal ring shield, I kept getting killed by a 5th king that would hit me twice at a good distance away and it's hard to close the distance with Ironflesh but I did it and danced afterwards I was happy the rest of the day.
@automaticspaz The best and easiest way to fight the kings is to equip a high poise and defence set of armour such as Giants, Havels, Black Iron or Smoughs and use your strongest weapon (I used the Black Knight Greataxe on NG+).
Other items that could prove usefull are the mask of the mother obtained from Pinwheel or his clones in the Catacombs, the grass crest shield for stamina regen and wolf ring for extra poise!
Always keep your health above 60% to avoid insta kills!
Hey i'm trying to follow were you go to fight the kings and their is water that kills me were you land. What do i have to do or did you make an earlier video of how to drain the water.
how are you just now getting the trophy for that? also is there a level cap that most people dont go above for multi player? why do you like the estoc?
@danpats1 There is no real reason to cap your level unless you are in the darkwraiths or forest hunters. Also it could affect dark moon invasions but as a darkmoon you can go as high as you want.
@rauphiel If you follow the main path through the level, you'll come to a large house full of ghosts. Clear it out and climb to the top to get a key. Continue forward past the house and you can use the key to lower the water and access the boss.
Hope nobody already said this, but I think I figured out what that supposed one-hit kill was. I was hit by it in my first fight with only one king on-screen. It hit me just a few seconds after the large, slow projectile appeared to dissipate. I think it's actually that projectile; seems that its hitbox lasts a bit longer than you can see it. Would love it if others could confirm/deny.
@SaucyFloridian Confirmed. Several other people posted something similar, and I did some more tests too. The attacks lasts about 1-2 seconds longer than the animation.... so I'm calling it a graphical glitch.
@noobmaster17 It's usually just a matter of buffing your weapon with an item or spell, holding it in two hands, and learning which attacks to dodge and which you can just stand still and attack through. Speed is king. Stamina grass or the grass crest shield on your back will also help. Good luck!
@noobmaster17 When I did this fight, I got myself a black knight's greataxe and Havel's set. The kings spawn every 30 secs. Once you've finished one king, immediately drink your Estus or you'll find a blade in your back.
Note, Four Kings has a magic element to their attacks, so have some resistance to it. Poise is also needed.
A black knight greataxe +5 will do well for strength builds. It may not have the damage of Smough's hammer, but it swings faster.
I did my first playthrough blind and only heard afterwards some people were having trouble with the 4 Kings. I was rocking full Havel and a +5 Lightning Greataxe (no magics though) and I just one-shot all of them with a 1-handed R1 attack. Whole fight was literally over in 30-60sec.

@robert42thebest The trick to the kings is to stand close, dodge as many attacks as you can, two-hand a powerful weapon, and kill them quickly. That's it!
As for which weapon, just use the strongest thing you have. For armor, it's good to have poise. For your shield, there are two good choices: a magic resist shield to block homing missiles, or a grass crest shield to regen stamina. I prefer a magic resist shield like the Crest Shield because you can always just eat grass.
@robert42thebest On NG you can tank them if you are in close range, but the best strategy is to learn how to roll through their attacks. Dodging their attacks and hitting them really, really hard is the way to beat these guys.
A high powered weapon is the most important thing that you can have in this fight.
@robert42thebest I'd just like to point out that if you have the full Havel set, a good shield and a decent weapon it's entirely possible just to soak up the damage. The safest thing to do would usually be dodging, but as I already said with my build, I was able to tank them easily without even using any magic. If you have a good armour, along with a good weapon, this is the easiest fight in the game. You won't even have to block. I was able to finish it in 30 sec.
@draagonys the trick i found for that lvl is beat the first one as fast as you can otherwise they'll just kill you. if you're using heavy armor with a heavy weapon get the item Green Blossom for faster regen of your stamina.
1get the witch to help you even though she does almost nothing to them.
2before you go in make use the thing you use to kill the ghost isnt in effact anymore
3first guy i used great combust to get it down half its health fast then finished it off with my sword.
Hope you can share some light. I am lvl 314 but still no expert on mixing and matching weapons/etc. I did beat all the bosses and now just enjoying the (little) pvp on the Flink or Garden.

They have insane hp and they spawn every 20sec, and they attack you immediately. I have looked for someone to show vids on beating bosses on that level but nothing.
Oh hey about being able to summon Beatrice, you need to have summoned her for the moonlight butterfly in order to use her for this boss battle. At least from the info I've gathered.

I equip Havel's shit and am using the drake sword (I think like +2?), because it's the strongest weapon (that I can wield) I have. Yet these bastards keep owning me. It takes like, 30 hits to kill just ONE. I'm SL 70 btw. Where can you get a BK halberd anyways? All my black knights are gone. ;.;
@NeutroNova You can see my stats around 14:50 in the video. What's your higher stat? Str or Dex? You may want to make a better weapon. If all else fails, make a lightning or fire zwei and it will do pretty well for you. You can't get a BKH until the final level now, sadly.

I have not read to see if people have posted this...
But, that special attack (that was barely telegraphed) is actually the homing attack.
I just got to 4 kings on my level 1, and I was running from the homing attack for 15 seconds..
It disappeared, but 2 seconds later I ran forward into where the homing attack was, and got obliterated!
So, I think the homing attack can still hit you when its graphic goes away?
I'll be fighting him more, so I'll try to confirm

@eishikibahamut You can use a lower hitting weapon for this, I just did it with an Uchi. If you manage 150+ damage each hit you will be fine.

@HippyManPL level and gear dont mean anything in this game really, its about skill, patience, and how much you're willing to tone that skill and raise that level of patience. i would recommend playing when you arent tired or stressed because it takes alot of concentration to get through this game successfully

@mindbend13 one's in undead parish near the church that the gargoyles are on top of, one is in new londo ruins (near the beginning, near the hollows), and the last one is in anor londo, up the stairs from the fog gate to ornstein and smough.

@mindbend13 The 1st one you'll find is near the Undead Church, head right out of the church and you'll find him. He's one of the most useful for standard reinforcement/divine. It's hard to explain the rest, but the wiki's are a good place to find out.

Just a quick note about the miracle "Vow of Silence".
I tried using it on the Four Kings to prevent them casting their magic attacks but it didn't appear to work at all. I thought it might work since it's v. similar to the anti-magic field from Demon Souls which worked on the 'Fools Idol' boss.
So if you're thinking about using VoS, because you're struggling to dodge their magic, then try the wood grain ring instead so you can physically roll out of the way.

Finally i DEFEATED the Four Kings.I used the easier strategy.Using heavy armor and stay in front of the kings I know is not as cool as without the heavy armor but i think it is useful.

@senglord There's another chance to get it by killing the knight in Tomb of the Giants, be wary as this one sneaks up on you, possibly while you're fighting a skeleton giant or skeleton dog. To counter this, listen for his footsteps and then retreat back to a safe area to fight him.
The other way to get it is to kill the black knight in the final area of the game, Kiln. This knight, like the rest in the Kiln respawns, allowing you to farm Black Knight weapons and titanite chunks!

is their going to be a ng+ strategy for 4 kings? the 1st playthrough fight was challenging, but this fights been like everest for me, & I'm trying to get the Beatrice gear set + darkwraith gear set so I've been dropping & farming humanity almost constantly, I'm 103, 2 maxed pyromancy hands, & + 9 elite knight gear with the dark wood grain ring, what gear would you reccomend I level up? lol I'm trying & dying every time.

@automaticspaz The problem with 4 kings is that the fight strategy is really simple. Dodge their attacks, and hit them as hard as you can. But the hard part is executing. Dodge roll THROUGH horizontal swipes, circle strafe vertical attacks and stabs. Two-hand your highest damage weapon and mash out some R2s.
Stamina grass helps. Weapon buffs help if you have them. I don't know your stats so I can't recommend a weapon, but I did it on NG+ with the Balder Side Sword as dex

@EpicNameBro omg everybody I beat the 4 kings, I even beat a 5th king, it took me many tries but I did it using a black knight halberd in Black iron gear + 5, with the moonlight butterfly shield, the grass crest shield, & the mask of the father, I killed them all with ironflesh on now please quit giving me tips.

@Haz3dNightfall thanks for the advice my bro :) I already killed them about a week ago, black knight halber plus 5, black iron set, & crystal ring shield, I kept getting killed by a 5th king that would hit me twice at a good distance away and it's hard to close the distance with Ironflesh but I did it and danced afterwards I was happy the rest of the day.

@automaticspaz The best and easiest way to fight the kings is to equip a high poise and defence set of armour such as Giants, Havels, Black Iron or Smoughs and use your strongest weapon (I used the Black Knight Greataxe on NG+).
Other items that could prove usefull are the mask of the mother obtained from Pinwheel or his clones in the Catacombs, the grass crest shield for stamina regen and wolf ring for extra poise!
Always keep your health above 60% to avoid insta kills!

@danpats1 There is no real reason to cap your level unless you are in the darkwraiths or forest hunters. Also it could affect dark moon invasions but as a darkmoon you can go as high as you want.

@rauphiel If you follow the main path through the level, you'll come to a large house full of ghosts. Clear it out and climb to the top to get a key. Continue forward past the house and you can use the key to lower the water and access the boss.

Hope nobody already said this, but I think I figured out what that supposed one-hit kill was. I was hit by it in my first fight with only one king on-screen. It hit me just a few seconds after the large, slow projectile appeared to dissipate. I think it's actually that projectile; seems that its hitbox lasts a bit longer than you can see it. Would love it if others could confirm/deny.

@noobmaster17 It's usually just a matter of buffing your weapon with an item or spell, holding it in two hands, and learning which attacks to dodge and which you can just stand still and attack through. Speed is king. Stamina grass or the grass crest shield on your back will also help. Good luck!

@noobmaster17 When I did this fight, I got myself a black knight's greataxe and Havel's set. The kings spawn every 30 secs. Once you've finished one king, immediately drink your Estus or you'll find a blade in your back.
Note, Four Kings has a magic element to their attacks, so have some resistance to it. Poise is also needed.
A black knight greataxe +5 will do well for strength builds. It may not have the damage of Smough's hammer, but it swings faster.

I did my first playthrough blind and only heard afterwards some people were having trouble with the 4 Kings. I was rocking full Havel and a +5 Lightning Greataxe (no magics though) and I just one-shot all of them with a 1-handed R1 attack. Whole fight was literally over in 30-60sec.
Using iron flesh on it would be just overkill.

@robert42thebest The trick to the kings is to stand close, dodge as many attacks as you can, two-hand a powerful weapon, and kill them quickly. That's it!
As for which weapon, just use the strongest thing you have. For armor, it's good to have poise. For your shield, there are two good choices: a magic resist shield to block homing missiles, or a grass crest shield to regen stamina. I prefer a magic resist shield like the Crest Shield because you can always just eat grass.

@robert42thebest On NG you can tank them if you are in close range, but the best strategy is to learn how to roll through their attacks. Dodging their attacks and hitting them really, really hard is the way to beat these guys.
A high powered weapon is the most important thing that you can have in this fight.

@robert42thebest I'd just like to point out that if you have the full Havel set, a good shield and a decent weapon it's entirely possible just to soak up the damage. The safest thing to do would usually be dodging, but as I already said with my build, I was able to tank them easily without even using any magic. If you have a good armour, along with a good weapon, this is the easiest fight in the game. You won't even have to block. I was able to finish it in 30 sec.

@draagonys the trick i found for that lvl is beat the first one as fast as you can otherwise they'll just kill you. if you're using heavy armor with a heavy weapon get the item Green Blossom for faster regen of your stamina.

2before you go in make use the thing you use to kill the ghost isnt in effact anymore

Awesome vids.!! keep the coming. I live in Miami USA and its seems that many peeps have drop DS. Its harder to play PVP. I tell you one thing...the Four kings are not Joke in NG+++. They have insane hp and they spawn every 20sec, and they attack you immediately. I have looked for someone to show vids on beating bosses on that level but nothing.

I equip Havel's shit and am using the drake sword (I think like +2?), because it's the strongest weapon (that I can wield) I have. Yet these bastards keep owning me.
