Stay away from Anwar al-Awlaki’s lectures. He is a misguided ignoramus who calls to the ways of the Khawaarij. You can find out more about this Awlaki here:
Why dont you listen to Anwars lectures to find out more about him? To understand a persons background , you need to research his lecture rather than other peoples opinion. I am sure you are more interested on refuting Alaki. There are plenty of video and you try to listen all of them then conclude. When US/Israel is after him I was suspicious and then I listened some of the lectures of Anwar. I found them good. Please send me a link of his lecture which you found unsound.
@partridgecaravan patridge, I listened to Anwar's lectures (in person) when he used to live in London back in 2003/2004. He had errors even back then, although I didn't hear saying anything 'extreme' at the time. The Scholar's warning against him aren't just 'other people's opinions'. It is called 'accepting the narration of the trustworthy' - Allah orders us to do this in the Quran. The Scholars warned against him after the examining some of the statements and writings from Awlaki.
Bring some of his lecture where you found "extreme" element . Any one can claim to be a scholar and blame Anwar. There are hundreds of videos ,pick any of them to show his extreme view. There is none and your imaginary scholars might be writing you fatwa from Israel and pentagon. I am really interested to know more about him based on hard evidence i.e. the video lectures. Please bring forth the evidence. If anyone slander someone without proof then he deserve a grave punishment from Allah
@partridgecaravan They concluded that he was a Khariji based on his statements from his blog (which has been taken down a while back) and from what he (himself) said in his talks. All the evidence is presented in those links I provided. You just have to listen to it with an objective mind. The proof is there for those seek it sincerely, may Allah bless you.
There are hundreds of videos on the tube from Anwar and I would like to research from those available hard evidence where I can hear him and see him talking. Any other source apart from that can be bogus , fraudulent and misleading. Please pick one of his lecture from any of these videos and prove your point. The following link has a video where Anwar exposed the Khariji. There are about 10 hadis on Khariji. Please read them first.
@wakeupanc i really have my doubts, wikipedia isn't a very good source for any information really, since anybody can write whatever they want on that page and have it cited by non-credible source.
I am a muslim who does not understand much Arabic, thank you for posting things in english so I can further my knowledge. May Allah reward you for posting this.
boutbusiness24 - You are correct brother in fact Allah tells us in the Quran 2:62
Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Sometimes I just don't respond to certain comments that they make if they just seem blank without giving thought.
How many good deeds is enough? and what is a good deed?. You said whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord .I have search for good deeds ,
You asked: "How many good deeds is enough." Well my friend thats the whole idea, you don't know, so you do as much as you can and try to stay away from evil and in the end Allah tells the believers there reward is with there lord. We as Muslims don't get a free pass to heaven because we believe in Allah. Just like your judged in this world by the law, you are judged in the after, the difference is Allah is more Just and merciful then humans can ever be.
Well a good deed for an example is, loving your parents, caring for your neighbors, helping the needy, helping the elderly, avoiding the evils of this world can also be good deeds,
Your lord wants you to get into heaven..
Above all worshiping your lord properly and knowing who your lord is. With out that then your deeds are like a mountain of feathers, when the wind comes they fly away.
@grpfing - Thats what we all wish for, but the truth is that it is impossible for us to find out if we have more good then bad deeds. Think of it this way: Are you able to count how many times your heart beats in 24 hours? Well I would say thats possible but almost impossible, you would need to eat, sleep use the restroom go to school or work. The same goes for keeping track of your good and bad deeds. We can try to do 100% good but we will make many mistakes in 24 hrs, Some small and Some Big.
You don't have to search to hard for Good deeds, as Allah tells us that Good stands out from Evil, truth stands out from false hood. If we open our eyes and truly try to reserch we will and Guide tells us that he will guide us to the truth.
Well yes thanks; The name ( GOD)Elohim is unique to Hebraic thinking: it occurs only in Hebrew and in no other ancient Semitic language. The masculine plural ending does not mean gods when referring to the true God of Israel, since the name is mainly used with singular verb forms and with adjectives and pronouns in the singular (e.g., see Genesis 1:26). However, considering (Trinity), the form indeed allows for the plurality within the Godhead.

The Bible; Gods words to mankind, Mathew chapter 9 verse 6 Jesus said;
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
Luck 5:21
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
God alone can forgive sins.
, Jesus come, to fulfil prophesises written about himself through out scripture, which Muslim do not belief.,
