A diferença do Senna andando na chuva era brutal,nesse video dá pra ver a diferença,a distancia n era pequena entre ele e Hill quando o mesmo saiu do Box,um piloto "normal" demoraria pelo menos uma volta e meia,duas pra chegar no Hill,Senna chegou em segundos...enquanto ele acelerava na chuva os outros tiravam o pé,GÊNIO!

It was Hills second GP.. Aryton was a triple world champion.. It was Damons first wet GP race.. Senna had won a few.. Hill was good, Senna was one of the greatest,, Senna took the piss out of Prost in the same Williams car the next race! I was there.. Hill took the piss out of Prost too in that one! LOL

Damon was on an outlap. i.e. cold tires and unknown situation as the track dries out. Damon will have braked much earlier as he had no idea how much grip was there. Good move but not exactly the best ever.

Pretty easy for a driver with years more experience to pass like this, especially as this was HIll's first race in wet weather conditions (and a competitive car period, since the Brabham he drove in 1992 was dog slow, rarely qualified).

@rafacosta2 you mean the year before..ok, talkin about that,the Schu-Hill incident was questionable, it was probably their both fault..Jerez 1997 was pure Schumacher fault and what Schumacher did to Barrichello in Hungary, did Senna to Prost in Portugal 1988..Prost tried to overtake him and Senna pushed him on the pit wall, the pit crew had hard time putting the announciation tables away before Prost would crash into them...thats the only case I remember of this, but maybe there were more.

@rafacosta2 Hill fault it was because Schumacher was half a length of the car ahead of Hill, Schu had the right to choose his line..Hill was simply too optimistic.

to be fare to him this was his 2nd williams drive and he probully just didn't want to put it in a wall.

i think hills tyres were up to temperature by then, hill wasnt great when it came to a wet or damp tracks

hill isnt a great driver, just a steady driver, look at jacques villeneuve in his first season running him close

The tyres takes longer to warm up on a damp track, due to slower cornering and energy lost in vaporation, so I believe they still wasent up in their optimal working temperature when he was passed!

In those conditions it would have taken at least a hole lap to get then warm!

But we agree on Hill...a steady driver, but not super-class!

Gustavo, parabéns pelo vídeo. Procuro essa ultrapassagem como louco no you tube faz tempo. Foi o momento mais importante da corrida na minha opinião e uma ultrapassagem de gênio como sempre, ameaçou na esquerda e passou pela direita retardando a freada. Inclusive ele comentou essa ultrapassagem após a corrida como uma das mais arrojadas já que Hill vinha fechando a porta em outras tentaivas. Espetacular!
