all companies copy apple design. the reason why they don't copy the mac pro case is because as Crucial (company) put it. They remade it and it cost $1000 to make the case alone. Go Fig
@jossh87 not $1000 worth. 1 80mm fan to cool the graphics card is not adequate (no wonder they dont offer a gtx 580...), 120mm fans are not huge (200mm+ fans are huge), 80mm fans are outdated, fans are low-rpm models so they get really loud when spinning fast.
not the worst, but not the best at all. for a $2500 full tower, the cooling is not all that great. poor case choice.
@jossh87 whats the difference? games vs production? seems to me that you are stressing the components in both situations. A decently designed computer (especially one so expensive), would have high end components all around, as well as cooling. if you have multiple cards in your pci slots (graphics, sound, video capture, etc) you should want more than one 80mm fan cooling all those and your hard drives. all OEM's skimp on certain parts and cooling.
Love using awesome hardware with an understated case. Takes your mind off the bling and lets you actually use all that processing power on your work. When I'm on my windowed rig with water cooling, I'm looking into it more than I'm looking at the screen.
wow your and idiot lol you have a fucking storage thing on a fucking computer case wow its called a desk u retarded dip shit i like pc and macs they both have there pros and cons and pc have shitty cases lol
It is a handy drawer to store my USB drives, my SD cards and my cell phone cable you idiot. I dont want to have to dig through a desk drawer jack as because most AV desk to not have drawers. Instead they have shelfs for AV gear.
Do you have anymore ignorant comments jackass or have you embarassed yourself enough?
The new iMacs have an SD reader only. If your camera uses an XD card then you have to get an external card reader or hook up your camera. If your hard drive gets full you will need to get a USB or Fire Wire drive. Esata is not an option for you. You can not RAID four hard drvies eiher. This forces you to gt a Fire Wire RAID system (Cluter Cluter Cutter).
If you wanted to do all the things I listed your work area would indeed be cluttered.
Don't get me wrong however, you do make some good points about a mini tower case, and us Mac users have been begging for Apple to release one for a while, but right now all we got are iMacs, so I had to make do, and get one, because I work with Macs, like most Mac users, as a profession. Unlike most Mac users, my profession isn't video/audio editing.
A Mac allows me to run Windows or Mac OS, and this allows me the versatility that my iMac does provide.
Just how many typical computer users care how many HDDs can be fitted into a case, or if it can accommodate a floppy, or how even how many LEDs or CCFL lamps one can fit in the thing? They don't know phrases like 'ATX motherboard'.
From experience with customers. The computer buying decision is decided on a how a computer looks and matches the office décor, and how it works out of the box. Usually the choice comes down to Apple.
Any one that does video editing using uncompressed video files or even the P2 and Red One codec would want a RAID system. The Red One uses over 40 MB per second to record the R3D codec. I think the Sony Cinealta line uses over 50 MB per second.
All TV Station and radio station use rackmount gear. It is not used because it looks pretty but because it has the funtionality they need.
I also think all the Apple computers have looked like shit (the Mac Mini looks OK).
You're obviously talking about high end professional AV production here.
Most of the typical PC my customers users I know wouldn't have even heard of terms like 'RAID' or 'R3 codec' or 'Red One codec'. and certainly would NOT have a Red One camera.
Most of them will just be needing an office suite, a web browser, email client. and possibly a few other general usage applications. Often their choice of computer is does it do the above, and does it match the SOHO furniture?.
You can obvioulsy get PC cases that look very elegant to match your office furniture but you can not get the same amount of functionality out Mac that you can from a PC. I did not say everyone needs a highend system. I will state the PC users if they want to.
The Mac Pro uses the space very effectively, for cooling. Lets see your little atx case see 2 xeons and 32gb of ram cool. The case you have on your PC is just so ugly. Also, lets see you swap out a hd drive in that case in under 60 seconds.
He said the Mac Pro's case is fine for the dual processor model, he said only that for the single processor model it seems overkill. Of course you'd want a larger case for cooling both processors. Watch the video before commenting.
Your suggestion of throwing in 2 Xeons in a little ATX case would not be possible, as the dual socket mainboards are E-ATX, and require a larger case.
If all you care about is looks, then that is fine, but remember that some of us have jobs and the look of a machine doesnt pay the bills.
I can swap out my hard drive is less than ten seconds you stupid ass. Watch my other videos. My system has true hot swappable drive bays. You can not trick out the Mac Pro like my computer system.
As others have stated the Dual Quad Core system would require an E-ATX Case. The Mac Pro case is decent for a Dual Quad Core system but for a single Quad core system it is way to big and I have proven it.
Hey AdopePC can you make a video of showing us. Which computers parts to get. Like which parts will be good for gaming and other for a music, video studios etc. I'm just saying you seem to know the difference. About computer Hardware. Like what is the difference between Intel and AMD. People keep telling me. You get more for your buck with AMD. But is it really true?
While I dont agree with this statement, this is what you will hear from Mac users...
"Look at the inside of my Mac...clean, meat looking, no wires etc", and I say, "I care more about functionality as opposed to internally pretty...how many people are going to be looking at your case let alone the inside of it? I want something that allows for exapansion and ease of use on the outside, much like the case you displayed in your video: Just my .02
But your case is not as pretty, and everyone that uses a Mac clearly cares about the outside of their computer too much to care that they're paying twice as much as they should for the garbage that's inside.
I think that my new Micro ATX case looks ten times better than a Mac Pro. I do think the MAc Pro is a piece of shit design wise for funtionality. The Mac Mini looks kind of cool but I would prefer a generic ATX style case. I think some Mac user might watch this video and start to want more options.

@Remoth000 mac pro has no cooling hey? do i need to reply really?
Lets see, 2 huge front fans, 2 x cpu fans, 1 huge sd dimm fan, PSU fan with grated front and back for more air current.

@Remoth000 I guess the film, music and graphic industry better quickly go out and change their equipment then because macs will burn the place down!!
Macs are not meant to be overclocked macs are for work not for games.
