Mikael (aside from being a bit more accomplished as a singer) has a far more superior singing voice, Jonas' is a bit more haunting in that its a bit more angst ridden and depressive, but I'd be damned if Jonas is a better singer than Mike. Isolation Years from Opeth trumps any song Jonas has been on, even Inheritance.

Jonas has a very warm, melancholic clean voice, but he had one of the most impressive growling voices I've ever heard. Just listen to Dance Of December Souls or the first October Tide album. The guys who have been or are in Bloodbath are some of my favorite singers/growlers ever. Tagtgren, Swano, Renkse, Akerfeldt and Blackheim (sings in Diabolical Masquerade).
I remember first listening to Dance of December Souls. Bearing in mind up until then I'd only ever heard Renkse doing clean vocals..saying I was impressed is an understatement. Definately one of my favourite singers.
Yeah, I thought so too, actually, especially with the mellow acoustic guitar in the background. The growls weren't that mean imo, I mean, Åkerfeldt is a beast, but still great singer

I think they're both equally good, but in totally different ways. Both have voices that fit perfectly for what they are doing.
Jonas' voice is rawer, but Mikael's is both evil and smooth.
But Katatonia is my favourite band too.

He has more range, dynamics and ability than Jonas. He was a pro when Jonas was still finding his feet.
As I said though, I like em both. Jonas has improved immensley.

Akerfeldt used to guest sing in Katatonia, he taught him to do the clean vocals when Jonas' throat got fucked and he needed to stop growling
