  • I'm feeling the same. I'm trying to transition to raw & I'm always hungry, too. I do the same thing with the fridge & I don't know what I want. Let me know how the smoothies work.

  • @Ms30Days Thanks for watching. I start every day with a green smoothie and they work brilliantly for me. I always feel off when I don't have one for breakfast. I now eat a high raw diet including brown rice, cooked beans, some steamed or stir fry veggies, some whole grain bread, but mostly raw food and am doing so much better. I think I had to spend a couple of years doing as close to 100% raw to break my food addiction before I could eat this way. I'll try to make a video update soon. :)

  • My hypothesis is your body was removing/detoxing the accumulated fats, and accumulated fats contain a lot of calories by themselves so you didn't need to eat much to keep on fonctionning "normally".

  • @TheSuperAstro Thank you for your feedback and for watching.

  • You made me laugh so much! I think my face was red from laughing.

But anyway, not sure if Dr. Graham talks about juicing, but you should definitely think about incorporating juicing fruits and vegetables in your diet; it's quick and energizing!

  • @graciousSenor

Thanks for the tip. Glad to make you laugh. :)

  • what kind of camera are you using?

  • It sounds like you need to fix your relationship with food, what you're saying sounds deeper than a simple appetite problem

  • I'm working on it. I'm doing much better now :) Thanks for watching.

  • are you short on iron? my father was a dialysis patient and a pagophage. he chewed on soft ice constantly.

  • last time I checked, my iron and other nutrients were normal, but I suppose I should have it tested again. I also don't drink fluoridated water or use fluoride toothpaste, which I realize may be contributing to my sensitive teeth. I plan to start brushing with fluoride once a day to hopefully help the problem and I just got a custom night guard for my tmj (I clench my teeth while I sleep). Thanks for watching.

  • David Wolfe said that chewing releases Serotonin, which of course does make us feel better.

  • For sure. Lately my tmj has made it quite horrible, but I still want to chew despite the pain. It's just how we evolved. Can't fight nature! :)

  • Remember, you're still very toxic, so it's tricky to know which diet is good or bad based on your reaction.

  • Thank you.

  • You're being needlessly hard on yourself.

    1. wanting to chew is natural. It stimulates hormones that relaxes us.

    2. GS's make me sick; but the individual foods I like. Don't push GS's or anything on yourself.

Don't follow the book to the point of going against your feelings: 11 bananas is UN-natural. I just eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm full. Keep it normal.

A dentist won't heal your teeth. They'll heal when they get the opportunity.

  • Thank you very much for your advice. :)

  • I would really like to know how you feel about 80/10/10. I am a new Raw Vegan looking to get healthy & lose 75 pounds. I don't think i can eat that much fruit at one time.. I need to pay rent lol

Tomorrow I plan on buying a lot of fruit & leafy greens... I just don't think I can eat all that fruit & lose weight. I would seriously love your opinion & view cause you have done it. Is this a sane way to live for the rest of my life? Or should I just eat when hungry?

  • Why don't you think it will work? In my opinion, you absolutely WILL loose weight on 80/10/10 (as long as you have excess weight to loose). Start with cheap, easy to get fruit. I stock up on bananas. I get them less than half price when they are already ripe (stores would rather sell them cheap than throw them out). Be sure to eat lots of greens too, not just fruit. Green smoothies make it easy. I do think you can live your life that way. LOTS of people do. Check out the 30 bananas a day site.

  • Um eating store bought organic produce that is grown with NPK fertilizer, and has very very very low minerals is going to leech calcium from your teeth and bones, leave and organic banana out for a few days, it molds and rots, it has very low mineral content and high sugar, most organic fruits are still highly hybridized and low in minerals. If your going to eat raw you need wild foods and super herbs/foods to get enough minerals.

  • Thank you for your opinion, and for watching my videos. :)

  • szy

We have to eat fruits with seeds, its obviously best to avoid Seedless fruit, which includes bananas, because seedless fruit is totally un natural and way too hybridized.

50 % of the raw vegan diet should also be Greens. Also e3live algae is an excellent supplement to include

  • That amount of fruit will kill you.

  • I have never heard of anyone dying of "fruit overdose", but I am willing to be the first to try. :D

  • This comment was a joke right?

  • No. Fruit today is highly hybridized and loaded with sugar. Even organic produce, has low minerals. Eating a massive amount of store bought fruit is the fastest way to demineralize your body. NPK fertilizer!! Nitrogen Potassium Phosphate! Learn chemistry. Wild foods, tonic herbs, ocean grown food is the only sustainable way. Watch and see.

  • lol, than why should veggies and other herbs would have more minerals? and the 811 doesn't say to only eat fruit, it recomends lot of tender greens

  • Organic store bought veggies are also very low in mineral content.

You need Fulvic Acid in the soil with sea minerals for the planets to uptake "Organic" minerals, without that the foods basically worthless. Most Organic Produce is a waste of money. Fruit and veggies in stores aren't even close to what they use to be hundreds of years ago. This whole organic produce thing is fallacy.

    NPK!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah! I agree, when I'm hungry I don'y know what I crave.

  • Perhaps being hungry but not hungry 'for anything' is due to having such an abundance of nutrition in fewer calories. When your body needs Just the calories but has no specific nutrient need, perhaps it just doesn't know what to ask for. What a great problem. Just speculation. You said something about anger. Have you ever checked out magnustapping on youtube? EFT it's called. Emotional Freedom Tapping. Very weird, very effective. I'm still exploring the possibilities. Gratitude, your vids rock.

  • That's an interesting thought. You may be right. I have heard of EFT, but haven't really tried it. I rarely get angry anymore. Maybe it's emotional detox.

  • correction, Emotional Freedom Technique.

I use it as needed, and it works great. I teach it to friends who are interested in trying it. I've used it for depression, anxiety, pms, and emotional stuff that gets me down. fixes the electrical/emotional connections in the body.

  • It does in a few minutes what years of counciling therapy and hypnosis therapy couldn't even touch. I don't understand when people tell me it didn't work. My situation, my trauma is more extreme than most. I experienced an immediate change and eventual elimination of the painful emotions. I couldn't get it back. No matter what I did. I've spent so much money trying to not hurt and finally found the solution free on a 2 yr old youtube video. It will take time, but at least I know what to do. : )

  • hey alexis! great that you read the book!

variety is not sooo important. i'm doing mono meals most of the time. (:

it's no problem 4 me to eat 11 bananas 4 breakfast LOL although i'm a very small girl ^^ (1,52m). it's very easy to consume them as a smoothie. just blended bananas. ((:

  • I just want variety because I am still so used to really complicated meals and I don't want to get bored or sick of anything. 11 bananas for breakfast. Wow! Your belly must be quite round after eating so much. Mine sticks out after a pitcher of green smoothie with just 5 bananas :) I could really go for a mono meal of mangos right now.

  • Green smoothie with 5 bananas if perfect for breakfast, eat 11 bananas for lunch, but it's not boring, if you eat ripe fruits you won't get bored beleive me :)

  • Personally, I would get very bored eating 11 bananas for lunch. :) Everyone is different. I do enjoy smoothies though. I am currently enjoying mango, collard banana. It's delicious, and it makes it easy to get all my fruit in without hurting my sensitive teeth.

  • Thank you so much. :) Funny thing, the smoothies don't hurt my teeth. I guess because there is no chewing involved. I ate most of my food in blended form today and my teeth didn't hurt at all (no straw necessary). I like to swish it in my mouth to mix it with my saliva for improved digestion and it didn't hurt at all! :) Thank you very much for your suggestions.

  • I've heard that chewing helps you deal with stress. I kind of understand what you mean, I haven't really been interested in salads lately (prolly cause I usually make the same kind with the same dressing... lol I need to get more adventurous). But that's a good point about cravings and possibly that they're connected to a lack of calories. I'm dying to try 80/10/10.

  • I have heard the same thing, and I'm sure it's true. I am excited about 811. I hope you try it too. :)

  • Hi Alexis -- Check out the new 80-10-10 forum. It's a great new site for newbies and those experienced in the diet. 30 Bananas A Day. Durianrider & Freelea got the forum started. It's chock full of goodies.

  • Thank you very much. I checked it out last night. great site. :)

  • My digestion/elimination has been perfect ever since taking on 80/10/10. No bloating, no pain, no constipation, no diarrhea. Just normal :)

  • Mine too, and I am just beginning. I certainly didn't expect that, but it's such a wonderful thing. For people with healthy digestion, it probably seems like no big deal, but for anyone who has ever suffered poor digestion as I have, it's a huge deal. :) I'm glad you are also experiencing happy bowels. :)

  • Do you think it is possible that your so well nourished right now that your body just does not need anything? I did 811 for two months before my wedding. I need to consider going back to it. Your video might be the nudge I needed. I felt pretty in control of my cravings at that time. I am wondering if it is bc it just is the best thing for us. Also I think David Wolfe says that chewing on raw veggies & fruit releases serotonin in the brain. Though that was interesting!

  • hmm. I hadn't considered that. I do feel physically hungry. Just nothing appeals to me. Hopefully it will change as I bring more variety of fruits and veggies into my home. I don't know if we can ever be so well nourished that we don't need to eat when we are physically hungry, unless, perhaps if we are ill and in need of a water fast, but I don't suspect that is the case with me. : /

  • i use that sensitive toothpaste, colgate i think (not sensydine i hated the taste)

anyhow i think it is working for me if u decide to try it i hope it works for u

  • Thank you. I also use sensitive toothpaste (the natural kind by Toms, which I prefer). It helps, but lately not so much. Does herbal tea erode enamel?

  • yikes, sensitive teeth! That makes eating fruit super tough! It makes sense that you wouldn't want to eat.

  • Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about it. :(

  • please keep us posted! and by the way, can you please make a video about your tooth sensitivity when you get results from dentist - it's a common problem I guess on raw food diet. thanks!

  • Thanks for watching. I have always had sensitive teeth, and they were way worse before I started eating raw food. I actually have fewer cavities now that I am raw (probably because I eat a lot of greens and am better nourished). I just have OCD when it comes to brushing, and I brush too often. It's also just time to go to the dentist. I noticed that citrus and sweet fruits really remind me how sensitive my teeth are, but they aren't the cause because I just started eating a lot of fruit.

  • I too have sensitive teeth naturally and got no real answer from my doctor. So, yeah, I feel for you...

  • They give me fluoride (poison) treatments every year, but it doesn't help. I just have genetically weak teeth. Always have. It's a bummer. I would like to whiten my teeth, but that would be like scraping my skin off.
