How about doing the elder rank Shen Gaoren with low rank armor/weapons. Too many 'tutorials' out with people walking through this stuff because they have armor and weapons above and beyond what can be obtained at that point. Thumbs down.

Oh and I used the White Fatalis Set for Shen Gaoren,so it's quite easy by then.

Actually,it's weak to both Dragon AND Fire.I am now HR9 cause I never knew I coulda achieved victory over Shen Gaoren at just at least HR4,I just do what I do.So yeah,I beaten him in less than 10 minutes in HR9.And sorry for the late reply.

I wanna ask you.My Longswords are:Mirage Shotel(Mirage Finsword),Devil Slicer,Wyvern Blade "Maple" and "Blood" and Bone Katana "Dragon".Which of these weapons do you recommend?If there is none of the above choose one for me.I'm on HR2.My equipment is the Rathalos Soul Set with 3 Expert Jewels.I know how to avoid the quakes.So recommend me the most suitable choice of weapons.Thank you.

@Kefka223 Well, According to the wiki, His weakest element is Fire, So use One of the wyvern blades. Use "Maple", since it's stronger then "Blood"

Hey i kinda need your help on sth. I'm fighting Shen Gaoren at the Fortress, and i managed to hit him untill he only got to hit the fortress 4 times. The time ended, But i got '' UNABLE TO DEFEND THE FORTRESS'' ???? What did i do wrong??? Pls reply

I think this video ( which have 3 parts ) takes him about 10 to 15mins. with a longsword , so my equips is faster. Hehe. Cheers.

@LaxWarior I killed Shen Gao Ren with a " Chaotic Hammer ". It's about 8 to 10 mins. With Fatalis Set. Rarity 10.

Dude seriously, thank you soo much for this tutorial! This helped me big time for the hr 3 urgent. I even used the blango like you suggested. I've been had it so all i had to do was add some quake resistant jewels. Again thank you! God bless man

Cool guide and i have been make Shen Gaoren fall down and many time and i use Fire Dragonsword and attack his/her body and it doesnt work to kill Shen Gaoren but please give me list of which armour set have quake resistance.

you dont have to kill it just get it to fall alot of times and stall it. once times runs out and it had not killed the base yet than you have beaten the quest

Hey, next time you make a guide, use a armour that is easier to obtain, rather than Ucamulbas armour, like, atm i only have the Blango armour (Quake resistance) and Wyvern Blade *Blood*(Because hes weak against fire). Great guide though

yo! you really gotta help me. im doing the hr4 urgent shen gaoren in gathering hall with a devil slicer. so if it takes you about half an hour to kill it with your clusterfuck of a damage dealer in elder quest, how the hell am I supposed to kill it?

you dont have to kill it. you just have to do enough damage to it so that it will retreat. hope that helped you.

wth man im onn the urgent quest thing and they only give me 30 min to kill it and i only manage to get to the secong red thats about it then after all that work it syays city was destroyed wtf.

There is a % for the fortress stability... you can either kill shen gao ren or wait untill time runs out and you still have enough fortress %

wait i dont get it so if i can keep the city from being completely destroyed then i pass. ive tryed the misson like 20 times now and all times ive failed. its kinda annoying. do you no how to stop it from shooting those ball things.

just last the whole time without the fortress going down (he doesn't use Ballista S cuz he's being a big shot in his G-rank gear, and that helps newbie hunters)

hit the legs with the wrath of a angry god when he tries attacking it to stop him.
