will was never 'replaced' and he never left - that is him on guitar! - broudie was involved as producer of some bunnymen albums and did play extra guitar in the studio.
pete [r.i.p], the drummer did leave in the late 80's when he formed the 'sex gods' but returned to the bunnymen before being killed in a motor accident in '89.

If you like this then you will like the band I manage, The Ran-Tan Waltz.. Hyped by NME, major support slots last/this year, 2 big London shows coming up in April. New EP released on Philophobia Records etc... Vids on the youtube profile x
I lived in sefton park area, Will seargeant was a regular at our local the Albert on Lark lane. I was invited to a party of theirs but I was abroad at the time so I missed it. Crap!
Woke up from a strange dream at 4.42 this morning. I saw the head of a public prosecutor roll onto the street from a red car that was hit on the front by a lady in a white car.
Fantastic. Got into the Bunnymen in early 1981 thanks to John Peel. Thought what they were doing was groundbreaking and cool, sad when they first called it a day. The first time I saw them live was in Orkney in the early 1990's, when they were a re-grouped version, Noel Burke lead singer. And Pete De Freitas was sadly gone. Will Sargeant made the whole thing work, even although they only played songs off the Reverbation album. Lucky to see them live in 2006 and in 2007, they are cool again.
Excellent footage, i was actually there as a child, i lived on aigburth drive facing the park and then we moved to lark lane. My dad was actually one of the fellas who helped set up the gear. For anyone from around the south end at that time he was the drummer and bongos player in a band what just used to set up on the field by the palm house and just play
you know the Lightning Seeds guy. He replaced Will Sergeant for a while, thats might have been for recording demo's only i think though come to think of it. its in the booklet for porcupine 25th anniversary edition
See the lad in the lake after 10 seconds of this clip -that's me. God it was cold and full of fridges! Can't help but feel the Bunnymen had peaked by this time IMO. Heaven Up Here was fantastic but the writing was on the wall when their record company got them to redo their third LP in the summer of 82 as it was poor quality if I recall.

Yeah I know who he is but that's definately Will in the video.

Ok cheers. come to think of it, Will uses that Red Jaguar guitar, and Broudie tends to use a Cherry ES-335, so my mistake

I love the solo by the dude on the electric cello, or whatever it is. It puts Jimmy Page to shame.

These Sefton Park lips are the best Bunnymen footage on youtube!
Do have any of the Crystal Day stuff?
or the Spanish TV broadcast from 1984?
Whatever you have, bring it all on, these are too cool!
Thank you !
