yeah i know man, was quite a while ago, the reason behind it is im quite a big lad and quite heavy, so back then it was kinda hard to be quick. im alot better now and ive done 3 competitions since and won gold for sparring in each, i need to upload some vids tho, i should be doing another in october/November so ill post that when i compete, should be good as its my last junior comp :(
i have only been doing it for 9 months and got to my yellow belt but if u have a good instructor ( i do) you will do very well.
if u do chose Tae kwon do i'd say do ITF which i do because it teaches you how to punch aswell as kick and also teaches self defence techniques.
i chose tae kwon do because i met a friend online and he was a black belt in tae kwon do when i was looking for a martial art and he said definatly go for ITF tae kwon do so i did and i love it
i also think it is good because it gives you physical strength and mental strength and confidence.
you do push ups, sit ups , V- sits and other things to give u strength and my instructor yells things like punch kick side kick and various attacks to keep you going during sparring to fill you with confidence and power :D
WTF Tae Kwon Do is more sport oriented. You do learn techniques though. Like Patterns, Self-Defense, various hand techinques/kicks. But then again it depends on the instructor. Some schools are straight Sport Tkd while others are Traditional (But still WTF).
lol he was just saying the another style of TKD WTF style is the sporting version learned for olympics etc which punching is not allowed ITF i do allows punches and is what i am suggesting to you if you chose taekwondo
its white, white and yellow tags, yellow , yellow and green tags, green, green and blue tags, blue, blue and red tags, red , red and black tags, black belt 1st degree, black belt 2nd degree, black belt 3rd degree and so on until 10th degree
Itf rulz over WTF and gtf only thing is your wrong about the belts it only goes up to nine seeing that it is koreas holy number
