The congas are a bit tinny in sound.I think you would sound better on deeper better congas. Go to rondoweiss and hear my Tycoon congas.Cheap make but a great sound. Nice hands though.

Maybe the synthetic heads could be tuned a little lower. rondoweiss those Tycoon drums you have are a pathetic student model that aren't even full sized congas, theya re for kids. rondoweiss you don't even know how to play congas. you play the same pattern from a movie in the 60's over and over again. you are NOT a conga player and should NOT be giving advice. rondoweiss is not a conga player. he's a conga pretender.

you have to close oyur finger, it gifted you a better sound also it you continue playing with your fingers open they are going to kill you later, plactice some slaps and the basic tecnics,also continue playing and practice a lot you can see a video of poncho sanchez name fundaments of conga, it would help you play better, also y thing that you have to tune up your conga drums! PERCUSSION KICK ASS!
ok first i congratulate you on your attempt and your courage to post a video! You have rhythm may i suggest checking out Rudy Quesada's vdeos here on you tube they may help you a lot. Don't listen to all these people that criticize you in a non constructive way just keep doing your thing have fun and watch those videos they will help with technique.

well from what I see your playing the congas like dijimbe, get some conga dvd's or find a teacher that can show you hot to play congas correctly. but you do have a sence of rythem.
Not bad for a white guy, no offense but you should start to listen to Mongo Santamaria, Ray Baretto, Johnny Hidalgo, Olatunji etc..Buy some L.P. Conga lesson videos. You got rhythm thats a given, and the drums sound OK, My best friend is a Grand Master Percussionist, plays 5 Congas in all styles and he too is white. Keep at it, the Latinos' better look out for us Caucasions with Rhythm.(smile) No offense Amigos. Keep practicing, you are right, you never stop learning..Good Luck SLY

Not bad, at least ur brave to post. Small advice, work on your rudiments using just the conga and tumba don't worry too much about the licks with build a rock solid foundation of the basics.
Good feel. People will say you got to learn technique and be molded. I say just do what you do, the more you do it, the more your own style will come about. Don't worry about them, just do your own thing and it will groove!
thanks for your comments. this was filmed about a week or two after i bought these. my very first good congas. basically soundchecking my camera and drums more than anything. ill update this soon with where i am at now. one never stops learning by the way.
I'm not very convinced of your hitting technique, you also seem to be tense in your arms. Have you got a decent conga teacher? I improved my playing skills a lot due to my great teacher!

I'm not very convinced of your hitting technique, you also seem to be tense in your arms. Have you got a decent conga teacher? I improved my playing skills a lot due to my great teacher!
