I hate to be the one to break this to you, but some of these emotional people that you are referring to are on the far right. These are the younger libertarian Ron Paul supporters who see government conspiracies behind every rock. They also don't like religious people who, like me, claim to be conservative. Ron Paul's message is largely libertarian. The reason he is a Republican is two fold. First, the Republican party is closer to a libertarian view than the Democrats. Second, there are an insufficient number of libertarians for Ron Paul to float his boat with that obscure party. From my perspective, having had lengthy discussions with libertarians, there is much thet disagree with each other about. Question for you, was Ronald Reagan a neo-conservative?

The south has been red for years. Its rural America that typically votes Republican. Look at a county by county breakdown of the 04 election. Notice the blue counties contain large cities. Its a cultural divide between the rural culture which supports Republican views in general and the urban culture that supports Democrat views in general. No one wants Mexico and Canada to merge with the USA including me. No organization could successfully pull that off. You cant cover something like that up completely. If the CFR really wants to do that then they are welcome to try but they cant possibly succeed. Ive seen the "evidence" and Im not convinced.

If they really wanted to merge the US with Canada and Mexico they would have to take a definitive step which had to be public. There is no way the public would go for that. Just as the people stopped Congress from forcing that God-awful immigration bill down our throats we would do the same if some organization tried to steal our sovereignty. I trust in the people and so I do not worry about imaginary threats. Instead I focus on real threats, like terrorism.

if you knew anything about bicycling, you'd know that if you are serious about biking, you would spend several gs on a good bike, regardless of your income (as long as you had some disposable income) and that bike is in no way a status symbol, unlike a pair of ferragamo shoes, which are nothing but a status symbol.
