Used to play P2P WoW. Went F2P and never looked back. You can level and gear a toon in no time at all, and once you've got all your gear, you never have to grind gear for that toon ever again. That's a huge advantage over P2P imo. Btw battleground pop all day long, so you're rarely idle as a F2P player. Just hope Blizzard doesn't see how much fun we're having and screw us over. They're spiteful like that.

I play age of conan almost every day now. I used to pay for it but none of my friends played so i quit after a while, but now it's completely free to play. It is basically impossible to play without buying a bag tho, so i bought a bag and i bought the ranger class, but the game is basically nothing but necromancers now that it's free. Also absolutely no roleplay anymore. Once a game goes ftp it seems roleplay dies.

I think if WoW went F2P i might extend its life span until the replacement for WoW comes out.

And some F2p games i love are Forsaken world and Guild Wars, but guild wars isnt "f2p" you pay a 1 time fee (to buy the game from a retail store or from the online store) than you can play as much as you want, if WoW were to do that it would seem much more ideal.

You cannot talk in any channels, join a guild, trade, use the auction house, level any skill past 100 or even whisper to somebody unless whispered to first. I have my acct closed for now but wanted to check it out and twink. But w/ no way to pay 10g before I hit lvl 20 unless you really try its pretty pointless as the game doesn't get remotely interesting until lvl 20 minimum IMO so this versus a trial account is a complete waste of time.

I think these game developers are taking the F2P route because of gold farming.

This attacks any company associated with gold farming hard, as the game developing company can now sell gold/items and control the prices.

Hey, here's a recommendation to a free MMO. Jade Dynasty. If you like a challenge in leveling up, then play that. It took over a year for the first player to reach the max level. Altogether there are 285 levels. First you go from 1 - 150. Then you get Ascended and go from 15 - 150 which takes a lot longer once you get to around 100. I havn't played in a while. I stopped playing at level 134 Unascended.

Like one person said Allods. The thing i like about this one is you have to work at leveling your character. Another free MMO i started to play was runes of magic.. Then there is one called Fiesta. This was my first MMO. The part i like about this one is when you reach level 20 you have to fight yourself.. That is really hard to do. Cause he has everything you do.... Try these games out...

Wow was fun as hell when you play it the first time. But when you get around a bit, they made leveling way to easy. Just spam instances all day long or get someone to power level u. It takes away the adventure aspects of the game. I knew someone who just did a few placed in Outlands and skipped to Ice place. SMH Cataclysm bored me, I quit a few weeks ago.

They made WoW way too easy to level now. I got to level 70 in about 12 days when about a year or two ago it took me 3 months. They also made it easier to get money and pvp gear.

Been playing WoW since BC up until the last four months. Enjoyed it for the longest time but in my honest opinion the game is going sour and it is starting to show from the content they are producing and how fast you can go through it. As for the f2p comment your making it still doesnt allow you to make use of the ah, trade and the standard limitations it had before. But choosing a f2p game atm i go with spreading my game time with RoM, Poxnora, and League of Legends. Thanks for the vid Bob!

I played Wizard 101 a bit recently. Targeted for a younger audience audience than normal MMOs, obviously, but it's generally fun if you can get past that. My only problem with it is that it's only free to play up to a certain point. You really can't go further with the game unless you pay to unlock more areas to explore. But I'd say it was a decent 3-ish days of gameplay. Nothing too special, but meh.

@bobsamurai Then it seems like this is just a marketing thing. I just got TF2 for free and even though i didn’t pay for the game I am pretty tempted to buy things from the store. I don’t need them but they do add some personilization and most things are cheap. That’s what WOW should do. Lots of things in the store at a cheaper price.
