  • @justtakeiteasy these are volenteer trucks, mainly used for bush fire fighting, i wonder how much america spends on there fire services compeared to australia.

    I'd pretty much agree with you on that. But these are Rural fire brigades, not city fire brigades. (They get called by different names in the different Australian states and territories, for example, in Queensland when I lived there and was a volunteer firefighter myself, they were called Bushfire Brigades.) Their crews are all unpaid volunteers, and they are always low on funds. Metropolitan fire brigades, in the cities, have much better funding, full-time prof. firemen and equipment
