My mom had a cassette tape called, "The Swingin' Best of Asleep At the Wheel", and we would listen to it every day on the way to pre-school. This is one of the songs on it. Sixteen years later I have the same album on my iPod and I listen to it all the time. :)

A friend of my moms turned me onto them in a rather "interesting" way. I had fallen asleep while driving, was in an accident and lost my leg...so she got me an "Asleep At The Wheel" tape...lol Now I absolutely LOVE their music.

Ahh haa....Johnny Gimble and Willie, George and Tex. Nice to share this tigerdog, the Wheel was rockin' in those days and Bob and Ray are still the Kings. I get to see them VERY soon out here in the great southwest!

He became one of the most sought after studio guys in Nashville after leaving The Wheel. I wish there was more of his stuff on The Tube. You may not know his name but you know his "sound" when you hear it.
