I keep mine on the road cause I'm using it as a family vehicle but it's still a blast to drive it. I love the feeling of power it has, plus the design says Get out of my way haha! great vid!

Its a 2000, silver and in really good shape! these were designed for off road use with the rims and tires. you can upgrade both but they were designed like this for a reason. I guess you didn't read the manual? If you don't have one, it's a good thing to have to learn about your X. Put the tranny in neutral, push the transfer case lever down into 4WD, then push IN then down again. It's sort of a notch it has to get passed to get it into 4WL. I haven't used 4WL in a long time. I miss that.

The only truck that wasn't stock in this video was the guy with the black X. He had larger tires, full skid plates, an ARB, and a lift kit. My X now has 184,000 miles so I'm not putting anything new on it. Next one. :)
my parents have an 04 xterra and i believe it rides so rough. its like the suspension has no give and its just in one position at all times. you oould run over a bottle cap and feel it. its 2 wheel drive and i have to say it did well off road. but i do admit they look awesome decked out for offroad with day lighters, snorkle, bigger tires and a brush guard
we had maybe enough fuel to get 500 feet and filled it up, 13 gal. tank. the paper said it had like a 20 gallon tank. and i also realized that it takes a while to get it warmed up. if we drove the speed limit, we could literally watch the needle drop so fast for the first half tank, then the rest is like we have a tail wind
yeah its always good to get a 4 wheel drive as your first car mine was a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport and the only offroad vehicles that aren't Jeeps that I really like are the Xterra and FJ Cruisers
It's made by WAAG. Don't buy this one. It's rusting tremendously. My biggest complaint is that the screws that hold the headlight grills in place face the fender! This makes it impossible to remove those smaller grills (need to for state inspection) unless you disconnect 2 bolts where it mounts to the truck frame and pivot the entire brush guard forward. Plus one kept hitting the driver side fender and rubbed off the paint. Crap!
Cool Video. I just bought a 2008 Xterra Off Road. I really want to take her off roading but Im scared to mess her up. Wouldnt want that. I was actually thinking of buying another older xterra to just use for off roading. These cars really are good and durable. I love the video.
awesome vid, I have an '06 and take it offroading frequently. fucking solid truck. I wish I had gotten it in the yellow though, it looks amazing in it.
I live in New Jersey. I drove out to PA. You're right, though. There really is nowhere to off-road here in NJ. I did go with a couple of other guys I met on an abandoned railroad bed just outside of Netcong, but that is now closed off for hiking. Many people go to the Pine Barrens for some good off-roading. Peace!
next time you go out in your x take off the step up bars...they're aluminum and bend easily. Get some Shrockworks rock sliders and a new bumper and you're good to go...xterra's r 4 life
I've thought often of modding my X but at 150,000 miles, those mods will have to wait for the next one. The run-in with the running board happened about 2 months after buying the truck. After that the boards were taken off and have been off ever since.
I love your video. had an 01 and an 07 offroad. make more if you can.

I have a 00'. The mileage is ok. You get 300mi a tank easy if you drive it normally. It takes me about $40 to fill up.

I'm feeling EXTREMELY lucky when I get 20mpg. Most of the time it's around 17 or 18 with mixed driving with a 6cyl 4x4.
