Talk all he wants about punching but alan gibson is not stupid, he knows full well what he said about wrist position is balls and hitting with the bottom two knuckles is a sure way to hurt the "chicken wing" thin bone in the bottom of the hand. Why he advocates punching like that I don't know, because I've seen him do it differently, similar to how sam kwoks students do it and it aint like that.
Alan knows what he's talking about, I've been punched by this man (he didnt break his wrist) and it had plenty of power! I've also met a few different Wing chun teachers in my time and Alan is easily among the best. (ps. I am not a student of his, I live too far away)
@Donkyfishy I have been a Student of Alan's. He Knows good Wing Chun and Anatomically With you Wrist in this position you create a straight line along the Ulna bone in your forearm and along your wrist to your bottom 3 knuckles, this is also the way Bruce lee performed a straight punch. would you argue with Bruce Lee that his wrist position was all wrong? I think you Know what his answer to that would be!
if he hits anyone with a fist that bent he's going to break his own wrist (i mean bent sideways, not bent up as in the traditional wing chun punch) and whoever aronoctsep is, you've got it right!
I was a student of alans for many years, He knows what he is talking about and makes things easy to understand. The castle is on the Isle of Wight if anyone is wondering.

Never hit with the bottom two knuckles! a: it's bad Wing Chun and b: you'll end up with what is commonly called by doctors a boxers fracture.
