if you want to hear great bass sax check out scott robinson's c.d. thinking big on arbour's jazz c.d. arcd. on which heplays both bass and contra-bass sax with a great jazz group great stuff!
James does a fabulous job on the bass sax, as well as the other saxophones. I am the Hillsboro Oregon dealer for these superb instruments. If anyone is interested please contact me. Leebm29 at Yahoo Com
Sopronino, Soprano, Alto, C-Melody, Tenor, Baritone, Bass, Contra-Bass. Sax also made a saxohone in F. Useed in the premier of Wagner's Taunhuaser instead of French Horns
Try the Sweet Georgia Brown version played by the Crackerjacks. That's bass-sax playing on a higher level. Slap-toungue also included, but more delicate and better handled. (more in tune)
now if you started reading this dont stop its really scary!ok send this to five other videos in 143 minutes. when you are done press F6 and your crushes name will appear on the screen in big letters this is weird because it does work. If you break this chance you wont have a crush in the next five years
James carter does this slaptoungue/popping technique on his albums....its on purpose and definately not a mistake...its a neat effect when he does it on his tenor....you should check him out. He really has a cool sound.
The Contrabass Sax is the lowest octave sax made. Then it is the Bass Sax. Then is the every loving Baritone Sax. Then the Tenor. After that there was(if you are old enough)a C sax. Then there is an Alto Sax. Then there is the smallest sax, the Saprino Sax. I play the Alto Sax in concert band, at school. I also play the Barri Sax in my school's Jazz Band.
actually, there are eppelsheim subontrabass saxes (Bb), contrabass (Eb), bass (Bb), baritone (Eb), Tenor in C and Bb, altos in Eb and f, sopranos in C and Bb, sopraninos (Eb), the the highest, soprillo/ sopranissimo (Bb), an octave above soprano
If you listen to Sweet Georgia Brown from the Crackerjacks, you'll hear that it isn't hard to play bass-sax. But they have a real good bass-sax player.
Where do you find something lke that.

I love the licks!...but I totally got bitch slapped with that sound...
Maybe it's really hard to get a sound out on Bass...or he was doing it on purpose.
