  • Was this a variation of pedal? The staccato adds something new, but it also chops the piece up. When you play the phrase at the end of page three, did you purposefully omit the peddle?

  • don't they use this in "The king and I" a couple of times?

  • Correcto.

  • I'm a r'n'roll drummer and I fund you"re on the top (in "amateur" class) Music capture is nice and I've made a tape to listen it in my car !!!

  • This is my next song, pedal it at the mozart-like bits. That will be even better :) Although a very nice performance :D

  • I had practiced but not memorized the piece before performing.

  • very well done, i have a question though, are you reading the music and playing it for the first/second time or have u practiced and memorized the song before preforming?

  • Enjoyed the performance... would use more pedal though. Make it sound more like a wedding.

  • Yup, I'm done learning this song now. :3

  • Add a little more pedal and a bit more emotion, I'm learning this song right now.

  • i love this song

  • I really LOVE this piece of music - and you do it justice. Hopefully my comment speaks for itself(?) Thank you and keep playing (very well). Patrick.

  • You should get a piano light! You're going to ruin your eyes playing with that lamp!

  • i love your lifts. it brings out a good ring to it. :) good job!

  • WOW! This is the BEST performance I'vr seen! I can't believe you have a STEINWAY!! I'm impressed! :D

  • why don't you use the pedal? i liked it though^^

  • great performance!!!!

  • Very nice just dont use a lot of staccato.

  • Have you read the sheet at all?

  • It's stacato but also shows you should use the pedal.

  • I Pezzi Lirici di Grieg...veri e propri "piccoli...ma grandi" capolavori. L'interpretazione è discreta per un pianista dilettante... Clap clap...!!!

  • Well. I played it some years ago, but before that I bought a CD of Leif Ove Andsnes (Norway), so I got "right" influence.

I personally don`t like your interpretation. And I can clearly hear some mistakes with notes... The comments about more pedal etc I completely agree with. The best would be if You practice more and play it by heart. This piece is so easy to memorize!

  • You're playing quite well but it's a little too stiff. I like the way Richard Steiner interprets it...it should flow a bit more especially during the middle. Think of fairies and elves and babbling brooks.

  • great comment, thank you....

  • ye, i think there should be a little more pedal... yes, your playing and the piano makes it sound quite nice, esp. in the beginning. aww i like this piece-a competitor used it in a competition i went to ^^

you have some good feeling expressed in it =] you've put your heart into it and reading it inside XD

erm, try not to rush in some places, e.g. 4.00, 4.30 etc.

    beautiful/cute piece, i agree <33

  • A nice, careful performance - but lacks in excitement and warmth. A bit too pedestrian. This work should be played with more sustain pedal and varying dynamics. Remember this is a romantic piece and should be played as such. This performance was a bit too classical. Try to memorize it! One of my all time favorite pieces. Let yourself go with it and relax more! Keep it up!

  • not bad for a non profi, you play with music and heart, just do not interrupt the piece changing the papers.

  • Excellent piece, I found free sheet music for it on SheetMusicFox DOT com and absolutely love it!

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Very good. Love this song =)

  • thanks, I'm always doing that... flatly missing a note even though I have practiced the piece a number of times....

  • hey i like your style XD

    anyway,you played a wrong note at 00:57.you played a B flat..it's supposed to be a B natural..=)

but i still like your style a lot XD one of my favs XD

  • I'm sorry, I didn't explain my comment. I think that it is too pretty. I don't know how to say it...Maybe kitschy. The piece needs more simplicity. On the one hand the piece needs more dynamics, on the other hand the quiet part is over-interpreted. For my taste you should use more pedal. Have a look at my version, it isn't quite perfect, but maybe you will see what I mean

  • very pretty...

  • Hey there... Well played... Like the way that you are very reserved with your pedal... Be careful not to rush on the crochet quaver quaver rhythms though... you have more time than you think... Thanks... Enjoyed listening to it!!

  • Thanks very much for your comments...

  • Nicely done. If you ever feel like giving your piano away, please put me high up on the list...

  • this sound is too perfect, isn't it? what a great a piano.

  • This piece brings me joy every time I hear it. Thanks for sharing your interpretation.
