2) The O'line during the Super Bowl runs was so overrated. Young Erik Williams and Larry Allen were beasts, but the rest of the guys were ok to average. If that line was so great, they could put any decent RB in the backfield and have success like Denver used to do. Sherman Williams and Derek Lassic did nothing behind that "GREAT LINE"

I'm not saying it makes them worse by all means its a upgrade from their current QB's. But from besides Berrnard they really dont any WR/TE to throw it to double Berrian and its back to the running game for them.
Oh I dont see Harvin getting a lot of carries i see him more as a WR/KR/PR and maybe a few plays at RB.

The reason why they have the Vikings as Super Bowl Contenders is because they have a "love affair" with Brett Favre which pisses me off. Outside of TO, this is the biggest drama queen in the NFL. They don't even address the drama that the Vikes now have, the implosion of Favre the last two years (NFC Championship game as well) and how he divides a lockeroom. Trust me I am not even sure they are a lock in their own division and they sure as hell not a SB contender.

Think again buddy. I am a Cowboys fan. What I don't like is the double standard. There is not much of a difference between TO and Favre, yet one is a curse to a team and the other one is the golden boy. I think TO deserves the crap he got, but why does Favre get a pass? They are both HOF players who are selfish and divides lockerooms. not too mention they are both primadonnas who are in it for themselves.

He didn't sign with Minnesota 3 weeks ago because he didn't want to go to training camp. Now that Preseason has started then he signs. He did the same thing with the Jets. Thomas Jones called him out at the end of last season and said we want Favre only if he wants to practice with us all season not only part of it. There were reports of him treating Rodgers like crap out in GB. Every lockeroom he has left the last 2 years was bitter about how he acted towards his teammates.

Now if the reason for Favre coming back is to get a last chance at a SB, then why would you wait till the middle of preseason to change your mind. You have a young receiving core and a whole new team to get your timing down with. I don't care if they use the same offense. I used to like Favre. Behind Aikman I liked what he did in the 90's, but the last 2 years he has been selfish and a fraud. Oh I am just this Mississippi boy who doesn't like the attention......right!!!!

Even with benedict Brett on the Vikings, They still will not win the Super Bowl. McKinney's getting old, Favre can't move in the pocket, and the new 3-4 in GB will unleash the fury on him. Brett Favre is still the most entertaining QB in NFL history, but I can't believe he went to Min. just to get back at GB. Berrian and Harvin meets Harris' and Woodson's press coverage. because the team wasnt that great, coles couldnt make great catches late in the season, and thomas jones couldnt run for shit, so they had to do more passing, which wore is fucke dup arm out. he got the surgery he got the wr's and hes got that RB..

LOL but he had the same issues that I mentioned with Harvin Durability but like i said maybe this year the light will go on. And yes you are correct but just remember they kept their starters in and Ward ran all over them by himself when we played them last year. Not saying the Vikes aren't a threat but still not sold. I think Panthers will win the NFC South again this year but who knows with the south. Tampa Bay was so stupid to let Gruden go, it's cool though cuz I love his commentary. He knows Carolina well and backs them up on their explosive skill, the skill I hope we see again Monday night week 3!

Shango, I have gut feeling we missed our Super Bowl window when we lost to the Giants in week1 in 2007. Do you think we are in a holding pattern to let me McGee develop, and move Romo in a year or 2 if the Roy Williams project doesn't pan out? We have a great 3 headed Running Monster. We need help in the secondary and special teams. (Damn Holley over Hawkins). But I think Sensabaugh will step up. Still can't believe we let T.O. go nothing. ATL/Saints/GB =NFC Championship challenegers.

1) Favre will not last the entire season
2) The O'line during the Super Bowl runs was so overrated. Young Erik Williams and Larry Allen were beasts, but the rest of the guys were ok to average. If that line was so great, they could put any decent RB in the backfield and have success like Denver used to do. Sherman Williams and Derek Lassic did nothing behind that "GREAT LINE"
3) Not sold on Mike Jenkins ... Wade betta wake up and play Scandrick on 1st and 2nd downs.

Well...they played big in big games. We didn't have to worry about Troy on his back and Emmitt always had holes. He really never had to get yards on his own very much. That's a great line in my eyes.
I do have more Q's about Jenkins than Scandrick but I believe Jenkins can be better because of his tools.

I could be wrong because I am not a Vikings fan, but I don't think they have had trouble selling out the Metrodome the last couple of seasons with Peterson. Shango is right, Favre is going to have to do what Elway did with Denver. I don't think Favre can do it because he is in worse shape than Elway and 2 years older, and I think he is a much more selfish player than Elway was (remember the stuff that came out of the lockeroom in NY and GB). The vikes should have went after Cutler.

Yeah, I got to be honest with you....I think the only way the Vikes get in the playoffs this year is if they win the division which is doable because the NFC North is bad, but if Chicago or GB step up this year, I think they regress and miss the playoffs, that is how bad I think this move was. Now if they had traded for Cutler, man I would be scared because at this stage, he is 10 times more the QB than Favre is.

Here is another stat for you. The oldest QB to win the Super Bowl was 38 years old. It was John Elway. Brett Favre turns 40 years old this October. Now I know that you didn't say Super Bowl bound, but why if you have a great RB and a sound defense, would you sign a QB who got worse as the year got older (and a torn shoulder to boot) to get you over the hump in the playoffs? Mark my words this was a terrible signing by the Vikings. Favre is Favre, but he is not a team leader like Elway was.

I guess that is my point as well. He had a pretty good line. He had a top 5 rusher behind him and a season in which he started out 4-2 and still didn't make the playoffs against a much weaker and more competitive AFC East. So I don't think it is a lock with Peterson behind him that it is going to be successful. Here is how I would play the Viking offense. The same way I would play against Jackson. Put 8-9 in the box and make Favre beat me. I want that 40 year old to beat me.
