The 5th gen in this video has an unattractive wheel/color thing going on, and the 4th gen has the striking red color. The 5th gen Prelude is a pretty car, the 4th gen is common - you could mistake 4th gen for a Mercury Couger or an Integra. The 5th gen Prelude is the prettiest car for the money that you can buy.

5th gen preludes imo started a whole new wave of body styling for Honda. After the 5th gen lude came out i noticed Hondas body styling started getting really sleek esp with what they did to the 98 accord. IMO the prelude 5th gen stying is timeless. Its def not a usual body style esp the headlights... but its one in its own definition, its a mix between old and new sort of like the Rsx.

Owned both 4th and 5th gen. Love the 5th gen, but miss the 4th! The 5th is a lot more comfortable and reliable though, but the 4th is a bit more "raw" and lets you throw it around.

4ws both unique and ultra reliable and works...Today BMW only sells it in the latest 7 series!!! Even then its an option. 4th Gen Prelude i give a Double thumbs up!
Just my opinion but i prefer the 3rd Gen Prelude. Many aspects worth mentioning (both design and performance wise).
Love the pop up headlights, classic and gives the car a different feel at night and at day (not to say you cant drive with lights up during the day - and still have control to have it switched off at the pop up position).
Low front that inspired the NSX look...see Wiki, surprised myself on how un noticed this car was and is. Beats ALL supercars at the time ...it is outstanding!
I've a '95 4th gen, it's sick, si model. I just prefer the headlights on it, with the grill as a sort of extension to them. it also looks a little sleeker as compared to the 5th gen, like lower to the ground

5G has glass sunroof and two cupholders, but 4G looks better, cool dash and more features.
When it went VTEC-only in 97 with the 5th-gen, I think that killed it , along with less features AND a higher price. Automatic transmissions failed around 60k, and I heard that the SH ATTS also had its own problems. That, and the lack of non-VTEC models to make a Prelude cheaper (For 4G, the Si H23 non-VTEC was the most popular model) and also use regular gas (H22 needs premium)
5th Gen wins hands down. I have a 98 SH lude and the ATTS has been perfect until 180k miles. VTEC is what makes the car go so why would you not want to have it?
OBD-II is REQUIRED AFTER 1996! The H23 VTEC "bluetop" does have OBD-II, though, so you're ok with that engine (as long as it's not throwing any codes, you're good)

5th gens a great car if you look closely it shares the same lines as the 4th. It's basically a retro version of the ever so popular 3rd gen, later deemed "baby NSX". The 4th gens also a great car, and if you do some reading you will see even without the JDM H22a it has quicker times then the 5th gen. I love both gens, although the 5th gen is what first caught my attention. Both are beautiful i just think this 4th was a lil' bit of a bad example in comparison.

Actually, I DO like it!!
My choice would be a 96 VTEC (4th) black, second choice is 95 SE (comes with the H23 non-VTEC) and then swap in a bluetop H23 VTEC from Euro Accord
but I can understand why some people wouldn't (as I said before, the Si non-VTEC was actually the best-selling prelude)
firstly, non-VTEC models are cheaper
and also, they don't require premium gas
30c per gallon difference...
Although I also recognize why the 5th winds hands down: it has 2 CUPHOLDERS and a glass sunroof

the fifth gen SIR.Personally,fourth gen was off the concept. it didnt have the tightness of the other gens.

No. Preludes 5th gen look way better from the side. AND MOST DEFINITELY FROM THE BACK. Its the sequel of the 4th gen. 4th gen is great, but not as good. period.

It seems to be wider and not as high (brother has one) but the 4th is too...civic-like from the nineties for my personal taste, wether you look at it from the front or the rear...
On the other hand, the 5th gen...ouch! =o)

I'd prefer the 4th rather than the 5th not just because I have a JDM 4th but because well they look more sleek and sexy! The 5th is just too boxy looking, I'd only go 5th if I was going show, but if I was going for performance, I'd have to go 4th cause they're lighter.

the 4th gen is better i own a 94 they weigh 145 pounds less with the same power and lower profile for better handling. my lude smokes 5th gens and its not vtec. but then again my lude smokes mustang gt's too :D
