You will more than likely want to shave off a few mm from the bottom of the clearance strip though (the bottom being the part that goes down into the channel where you would then lay the LED strip). Otherwise, you will not be able to put the clearance strip all the way back into place so that it sits flush. If you don't, you won't be able to close the whole thing properly either.
what is the clearance strip?? Is that just the name of the led type or is it a piece of material that goes over the actual led strip?? I seen it as clearance tape as well??
Light looks awesome but that link in your discription says they're sold out. Whats the length of the clearance strip you bought? 11 inch or 12?

@TheB1Bomber I purchased the 12" strips. I forget if I had to trim or tuck away, so I would suggest measuring before ordering.

so did you just remove the halogen bulb and feed the led strip down the side? ive been wondering how to do this.
