In my opinion, Jack is one of the rarest persons who is self-sacrificing, willing to help those he loves especially Rose. His determination to help her survive. He is a good person who died with bravery. Someone once told me "People like Jack get a rightful place in heaven for giving their life for another" and even though it's sad, it's shows how hopeful Jack was for Rose to keep her promise, knowing they will meet again and be happy, knowing she's strong and this tragedy will make her stronger

There was no time to play around and try to get on the door with Rose, the longer you move when hypothermia is on the line, the faster you die. So Jack just let her take the door and promised her that she'll be fine if she doesn't move off the door. And wow, this movie is really based on time. (Just like Romeo and Juliet) If the boats came quicker, Jack maybe would've survived.
