I re-watch this film again because recently I'm falling for a guy in similar situation...
I never talk the guy but i like him when first saw him and felt his disposition...
He knows my attention and he did give some response too... but none of stepping forward...I'm more shy than Zhang Zi Yi in the movie. I cry out of emotion at 5:36 till 6:26... I missed so many good developments in life just because of awkwardness and I turn away and made others shy away too...
This is one of my favorite movies of all times, very touching and deep... makes you wish to live in those times, where it's all simple and all the people are down to earth and where love has no boundries or redlines because it's the purest and it doesn't involve anything else

that's because that's not stalking and all of the stalking is very exagerated and limits a lot of people to a point that they can no longer love anyone at all just because they are afraid. That's why western countries are not all sunshine and rainbows. Many people have never felt love in their entire life. Even a slightest of hopes that come to their lives mess so hard with their mind that they go to extremes to try and hold on to it. It does happen all the time.
i just noticed some things..most parts of this movie actually picture the long road where the characters are walking. another thing is that when the flashback scenes are shown the picture is colored while when the old Di and her son is on the picture, the color is black and white..hmmm does anyone know the meaning under these? ^^
The past is the present. The present is the son coming home to bury his dad - it is winter - signifying the sadness resulting from the village teacher's death. The past is a story of happiness and love - it has to be in color to emphasize its immediacy. But the present is rescued when the son goes into his father's classroom to teach - that's the most important scene in the movie - the son bridges the loss of his father and the hope for a new teacher.
daaahm! she was str8 STALKING him. the muzik falsely made the scene look ok, but w/ it, she looked mighty weird, almost sick-like. when love turns into obsession, it not a healthy relationship. obsession can turn into murder, my granny always taught us.
This is a cultural thing. the word stalking has such a negative connotation in english. we don't use this word, we don't have this word in Chinese. We consider this action a very sweet thing in China. but in the US, we would get a restraining order on that person.
@tangjkd stalking is all about intentions, good or bad. now people think it's bad because people have gotten hurt of killed. I like how people fall in love in the old days. it's so sweet and innocent. and women were more respectable, not a lot of slam bam thank you ma'am going on. people were more honest too. when they say they're in love, they mean it. nowadays, there's a lot of lying and cheating. arrange marriages were more common in the orient though.

This is a cultural thing. the word stalking has such a negative connotation in english. we don't use this word, we don't have this word in Chinese. We consider this action a very sweet thing in China. but in the US, we would get a restraining order on that person.
