  • Love the feeling of the motherfucking gitar,,first-class,,,,

  • 16 people didn't stay. :)

  • If I was another country artist in that audience watching this performance I would think, "Damn, I gotta step up my game"

  • Such a powerful song.

    If any1 loves this song

Type blossandvivs and listen to there version really good ;)

  • Wow! What an awesome performance. Amazing!

  • At first it was hard to listen to this song, coming from a family where my dad was with another woman and seeing my moms heart break so many times. It's hard to relate to the "other woman" when you feel nothing but hate for them for taking something that isn't theirs. And it almost feels like I'm sympathizing with her by enjoying the song but it's just too good. And it's hard not to feel bad.

  • My mothafucking song!! Love sugarland

  • They are just fantastic. I once heard someone say they didn't sound as good just the two of them. WRONG!!!!

  • She is the best!!

  • Awesome song. Awesome vocals. Been there done that. If you feel yourself going down that road with someone, dont. That shit will fuck you up.

  • I gotta say it...you'd have to be a world class piece of trash to treat that woman wrong.

  • I love this song!! She has such an amazing voice!! You know an artist is good when they sound just as good live as on the cd!!

  • I honestly don't know how she performed the whole song in front of an audience. I would have broken down about halfway. This has to be the saddest song ever created.

  • @RedlineCBR PROFESSIONAL :)

  • the song was a tome' to her husband who was messing around on her.. look at the raw emotion in both videos... that you cannot fake

  • I just love her!!!!! :)

  • Sugarland your just simply amazing!!!!!!! The songs that you wright are so touching and hit my heart! you go get em! your awesome!

  • I love this song .have it as a ringtone.

  • every single note was perfect. she has so much soul.

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG I LIKE THIS BAND HER VOICE IS AWSOME!!

  • Love this song and performance

  • I like to listen to this song when i think of him, thinking why is he with her, why is he not with me. She treats him wrong, cheats on him 24/7, and he caught her once, but she crawls back to him on her knees, looking pathetic. If he only knew i am there, standing, waiting for him to realize i am right for him. I know it is wrong to lust for a guy is someone elses, but you cant stop loving some one. It stays locked in your heart, and forever it will stay. If only he could stay, with me.

  • @bjkadkb02 exact same position bud, don't feel guilty. you can't help who you love.

  • Love this song.....Been there done that will never do it it again...

  • I love this performance it was on Birthday! :)

  • Awsome

  • I sing this song outloud in my car x.x even though im a hardcore fan of heavy metal, and post-hardcore/screamo bands. I just love this song so much aghhhh!

  • For all women who are or have been in this situation - stay strong xxx

  • Great song, great sentiment.

  • I love this song too. But Most of all, I love the END,,,, That is gonna be my answer when he calls me wanted forgiveness and to come back home. Oops, I burned OUR home in my mind, now it is MY home and MY heart. I cannot wait. I would like to be a fly on the wall when he gets my answer and see his body just sink cause he really thinks he knows what I am gonna say. I JUST LOVE THIS SONG

  • Jennefer actually wrote this song after hearing Reba's Whoever's in New England which is about a wife who has a cheatinh husband, so Nettles wanted to write a song from the mistress viewpoint. I love this song. Plus Jennefer is so motional while she sings it. Such an amazing job.

  • heart soul talent

  • Simply great all-around musical performance. The vocals are amazing, great guitar, and her voice is incredible of course. It's great hearing the crowd after the choruses people who have obviously been thru this situation before, and I don't believe Jennifer has never been thru something like this. Her little smirks and hand gestures at certain points in the song suggest she has definitely been there with probably someone very important to her.

  • The moment she takes a pause after singing mine @3:59 the look in her eyes is so powerful its like she's saying "I'm DONE its OVER all in that one look. I love that moment so much I keep replaying it!

  • I love this song and for one is living it in my life now!! You get told something over an over along u might get 1 night or months with this person and then they go back leaving you to believe it was all a lie and u was being used

  • @chwrestling04 wrong. She has never experienced this. I was at her concert when she said it was written about a mistress, or the "other woman" but she has never been in that position.

  • shes hot enough just standing there what a beautiful lady;

  • This reminds me of an Ani DiFranco song; produced and delivered with less grit and more grace, with less brawn and more beauty. But both amazing voices and messages that stick with the soul. Beautiful, inspiring and empowering.

  • I love Sugarland!!! 

  • Wow

  • I know she's singing from the "other women" point of view but I think it would best suit the wife of the husband who keeps cheating as well. think about it. "I'll be begging you, baby, beg you not to leave...What do I have to do to make you see she can't love you like me. Why don't you stay? I'm down on my knees..."

story of a women who loves her husband but isn't loved back as much & while she keeps begging him, he will still go to the "other woman" though she loves him the most & stay faithful

  • HEY SUGARLAND HOW ARE YOU DOING TONIGH SUGARLAND

  • She actually wrote this song after listening to Reba's song Whoever's in New England and wondered what it would have been like from the perspective of the "other woman".

  • This is actually a true story about her. She was on the wrong end of a cheating scandal. If you watch the official music video you notice that the guitarist is never in the same shot as her because he quoted, "I cant stand to see her cry". It seems whenever she sings this is is "Powerful".

  • I honestly like the fact it's from the "other" woman's perspective. We always feel bad for the one whoa being cheated on, but Alot of times we don't think of the others emotions too. They fell in love too,and it's just as hard on them. I love sugarland and all their music. She is a truly amazing singer:)

  • she gets so invested and emotional in her music. probably one of the only songers who can manage to make a vocal persformance better than what we hear on the cd....

  • @Lnmary21 definitely

  • The song is about those two people.

  • This is the song that got me listening to country music again. I can listen to this over & over & over! I swear she's had some personal experience w/this in her life because I don't think I've ever seen anyone sing w/such pure emotion!!!

  • Living this song right now...i know i will get over it...but just didnt know when....i hope its soon

  • One of the best ever !!!!!!

  • Great song. Very emotional

  • Great Wong

  • I mean borrowed

  • This reminds me of the movie 'something boasted'

  • simply the most powerful song ever written

  • simp;y the most powerful song ever written

  • for all you peeps feeling pain....just stop...seriously i went through it twice and now im engaged to someone who actually makes me truely happy. trust me i thought i was doomed to pain forever....WRONG...it really does get better.!!! just get out there and meet 'em =D

  • Living every word of this song right now! = (

  • I know how she feels. I live it right now!!

  • I've never been in a situation like this, but I still can't help but feel her pain and cry

  • Not sure if anyone knows, but in the music video the guitarist had to be in a separate room because he cannot handle seeing her cry. Very close duo

  • If any of you are wondering why she wrote this song is because she was inspired by Reba McEntire's "Whoever's in New England" .

Her thought was that everybody always tells the story through the cheated's perspective. She thought she would do different.

    cmt.com/news/country-music/1578707/the-story-behind-sugarlands-stay.jhtml

  • i got goosebump. That was so emotional.

  • lÔl_ãñÿ_gúYs_wãñt_tõ_chat_wÎth_mÊ

  • I hate how she always cries... I just don't see the feeling or buy it :( sry... I've loved sugarland since I was lil tho and I still Lik the song

  • @SuperLaughitup whatttttttttt. this is an amazing performance. I think you are one of the few that dont "buy" it.

  • @robcole24 ya i dont buy it...dont get me wrong tho i like the song

  • She is awesome and all the people that hate are just jealous!

  • this song cried me a riverrrrr

  • I would dedicate this song to my ex boyfriend/friend. We had an argument over some stupid thing and I had apologized and asked if we could start over. We were testing each other. He replied saying fine but I'm not your prince. So now it feels like he was just using me even though he keeps on telling me that he would never do that to me. He is hitting on two of my friends.

  • I will FOREVER love this LIVE performance! One of the best I've ever seen!!! Bravo!!!

  • great song!

  • This is one of the most beautiful live performances I have ever seen.

  • Call it country, call it pop, call it classical. Makes no difference. This is another example of powerful emotional writing and performing. And it doesn't hurt that Jennifer is drop-dead gorgeous.

  • @ montanastranger well its a good thing no one cares what you think. Sugarland is an amazing COUNTRY duo, even trio back in the day. Keep it up!

  • i dont like sugarland and DO NOT recognize them as country by any means. With saying that though she has an amazing voice. Truly blessed.

  • Love this song

  • i cant get enough...her emotion is so real, something you dont see everyday in live performances anymore

  • A band that sounds as good live as they do on the radio. That's talent.

  • @allanshawn dude are you for real. Why would she fake cry dude come on she has a beautifull voice and sings really good

  • @allanshawn seriously, you are completely missing the point. Music is about the message.....and Jennifer has a gorgeous voice. She sings from the heart, and you can feel every word. Please, if you are going to take the time to insult someone, do it the proper grammar.

  • @allanshawn Jennifer Nettles can't sing? What? Are you even watching the same video as the rest of us??

  • @allanshawn Stay away from the drugs... It makes you hear things and see things....

  • She wrote it as another point of view from the song "whoever's in new England" by Reba McEntire"

  • @athletickid13 no she actually wrote it form the mistress' point of view and it didn't actually happen "we are just the story tellers" Jennifer actually said so no it is NOT about todd van sickle (her ex husband)

  • true. talent. enough said.

  • wow i heard this song yesterday for the first time and i have played it continuously, it so relates to my situation at the moment and it pains me to my core ;(

    i miss him so much

  • @megacelic stay strong babe. things always happen for a reason.

  • @wallyboy79 thanks so much i'm trying ;)

  • Finally a song I can relate to

  • she wrote this song for her now ex... about his cheating on her when Jennifer was on the road.

  • @athletickid13 no not really i heard she wrote it because everyone always writes about the woman who the guys cheats on and always has her back. But no one ever writes about the woman who was involved. That there is more than one person being hurt when people cheat or something like that. It has something to do with one of Reba's songs.

  • This was the first time I ever heard Sugarland or this song... Jennifer made me feel sorry for and cry for that "other woman" that night with this performance... And last night when I watched their live concert from New York on Youtube, she did the same thing again. She sings from her soul - with so much emotion... When she sings this song, I "am" the other woman - now that's talent!!

  • she looks like she's always having a seizure when she sings

  • I hate to say it but this feels like my life right now... I know what I have to do but it's just so hard to let go you know

  • She has amazing vocal range. Also, perfect diction and I think she can sing just about any genre and has. She could sing the phonebook and get an award. Not saying anything hurtful toward Taylor Swift, she is a great writer, however, she could use some singing lessons. Believe me Taylor is doing so many things right, but after you hear the likes of Jennifer sing u can't help but notice. Again I like Taylor and wish her only the best.

  • She is beautiful, and so are her vocals. She has quite the set of pipes.

  • INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCEEEE! I fricken love Sugarland. Kristian is an amazing guitarist, and Jennifer has one of the best voices in Country music history. This song is such a beautiful and raw tune, too. Jennifer has an amazing knack for writing.

Is there anything they CAN'T do?!

  • thanks to Sugarland and Lady A I have discovered a whole new genre of music that I had paid little attention to in the past. mini revelation for me and I'm loving it

  • She wrote this when her husband as cheating on her. Instead of writing it from her point of view she wrote it from the point of view of the other woman..which I think is not only brilliant but also maybe a good healing tool....

  • I love this song! She sings with such great emotion and I love how she can b practically crying then at the end b all smiley and happy! They put on such a great show!

  • <3 her!!!!!!

  • Great song, beautiful performance!

  • so good to listen this one...with a cup o' coffee in d monin..whew

  • nice to hear it always..

  • amazing shes not one those people who make their vocie she was borned with it :)

  • I love her so much...everything about her is beautiful; she's pretty, she's a beautiful person, her voice is amazing....she baffles me and this song gets me EVERY time I hear it. I love it, I don't think there is anyone who can sing as well and with as much emotion as she can.

  • In the song toward the end, she told the guy the next time he thinks of leaving his bed while laying with "her" to just "keep your fxxking azz at home" no I mean she said "STAY" lol

  • i lived this song from the beginning with begging to the end when i got up and left! Im such a stronger person now and i will never let a man do that to me and my kids again!

  • my favorite Sugarland song. and I agree with tomboy85

  • this song is my life

  • Just so you guys know it hurts just as bad to BE the other woman and yeah we all know it's wrong but try BEING in that situation, you really can't help it because you see an opportunity to be with the man that you're in love with and you don't see that your being used and you don't care about the one theyre In a relationship with

  • What a powerful song

  • storyofmylife.

  • This video is to real for me, my daughter is living this! Life is so unfair!

  • Go.

  • Goodness gracious it is just a song. Why must everyone internalize, let it go!

  • The woman isn't ALWAYS at fault. What about when the man outright lies and tells you he is divorced ? or "getting" a divorce ? Then after you are with him for a year you find out the wife is out of the country with the military ? Ya she called some, and ya he was discreet about their phone calls, but they had children together. For reasons of not wanting to be a nosy, meddaling girlfriend, sometimes you find out a year later that the man is just a lying, cheating, sack of shit.

  • Yeah, I totally agree with you. Every situation is a different one.

  • this mite b the greatest vocal performance ive ever heard...simply amazing

  • she did write this in response to the reba song "whoever is in new england" But...

she was going through a divorce at the time she worte this song and thats why shes so emotional about it!! And maybe he did cheat on her..who knows?

  • i love jennifers emotion and voice- man i'm tired of his ass--i'm getting a dog--

    a real one!

  • I love this song so much. I've totally been that woman before when I was 21 I met this guy that was just wonderful and amazing and everything was great... loved him like most girls that age tend to love someone 10 years older and more experienced... turned out he was married. So I apologized to her and cried and grew up... why would anyone want to get married after it blech... no thanks

  • that last comment was directed at everyone asking if this is from "the other woman's view" Listen closely to the lyrics "you keep telling me baby there will come a time when you will leave her arms and forever be in mine..." That's exactly what I'm talking about when I say "trapping women in." I love this song. I have NEVER seen so much emotion in any musical piece. enjoy :)

  • i love this song women keep your head up it will b alright after well just don't stay around 2 long your life is worth more

  • this sing is about me. i am so sry, i shouldnt have stayed.

  • effing amazing

  • How can a singer exhibit more emotion than this?! Sorta reminds me of last night....I had four girls beating on my bedroom door. So, I finally let 'em out.

  • oh yea blame the other woman...

fyi its not all her fault...she is also falling for the mans words ok?...so just like the wife she fell in love with that man...she believed in his words...and at the end she realized she was getting humiliated by that men...n thats when she has the guts to love herself instead....so don't blame it all on the other woman all the time kk ;) love this song xD

  • is this song written from the perspective of the "other woman" ? Im pretty sure it is, in which case, its a piece of crap. Have some respect for a marriage.. why would you want to break apart a family. Leave married men alone

  • yes it is. She said in an interview that she was never in this situation, but "She knows what betrayal feels like." This song was inspired by all of the songs written from the cheating husband's/boyfrined's woman viewpoint and she wanted to do something from the other side. As a man, I can say that we have a tendency to be good at keeping women trapped with us, good or not. I don't agree with this song, but I completely understand the emotion behind it.

  • "It's a story that you hear a lot, the jilted lover, the one who has been cheated on. I thought, 'You know, in that situation, there are three people hurting. Ain't nobody really happy. What if you were bold enough to tell the story of that other woman, and what she feels like in loving someone that is not fully hers either and knowing that there's another woman that's hurting because she's in the picture?"

    --Jennifer

  • Her voice is SO RIDICULOUSLY soulful!!! This is one of my favorite performances EVER of any artist, any genre.

  • the emotions u feel when u watch this is just amazing...they did a WONDERFUL job live

  • can you image the guy in there cheating on his girlfriend with a girl that knows he has a girlfriend

  • One of the best live performances in musical history, of any genre. And all it took was an acoustic guitar and one woman.

You couldn't pick out a single miscue or tonal flaw in this performance. Truly brilliant.

  • This song has so much emotion flowing through it,i love this song,Big up from GRENADA.

  • actually if your description was about the Reba McEntire song it was right

  • Perfection!

  • This song is awesome!!!!

  • Forsure this chick ROCKS!! FYI - she wrote this song in reference to Reba McIntyre's "Whoever's In New England"

A little trivia for ya ;p

  • Absolutely beautiful! I love the end..."I'm up off my knees. I'm so tired of being lonely. You can't give me what I need..."

Jennifer has such a powerful and soulful voice! This is the best performance of her career thus far!

  • this is the most emotional performance i've seen in a while. it really brings the song alive. i love it.

  • i love the song....

  • mane i aint even on country like at but this sawng is dope her husbands retarded for leaving her shes sexxie

  • her husband didn't leave her. thats not even the history behind the song. But the divorce was a mutual agreement

  • i heard the backstory of the song was jennifer thought what was it like for the other woman in the song "whoever's in new england" by reba.

  • Love Sugarland! Jennifer has an amazing voice!

  • too bad that we cant see all of their tapes in Germany. I love Sugarland and as German I have my troubles to get to live videos. I love Sugarland. Greetz from Germany

    Steph

  • I'll Stay Jenn!

  • not like having the same voice fucktard

i mean the way she emphasizes the notes

and the emotions she puts into it when she sings

  • I love Sugarland SO much! I need more of their albumsm though. I only have Love On The Inside, and it's amazing!

  • great singer because she sings through her heart. u can tell by her facial expressions

  • that is a fantastic song. it has alot of meaning

  • she reminds me of a female darius rucker

    shes amazing

  • that's the dumbest thing ive ever heard

  • This is what seperates a singer from an artist. Wuth every line, every note, you FEEL what she is singing. She's not just singing a bunch of words strung together connected by notes. She's amazing.
