  • Beautiful!!!! I certainly love this opera.

so sorry we don't hear much of this

  • Love it. TY

  • That's lovely, thank you. So tragic that Joplin died at the time when he really seemed to be blossoming into a composer of the like never heard before.

  • Excellent interpretation! So glad to see someone give attention to Joplin's non rags. This is a beautiful piece. good job!

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • Congratulations for catching the real Scott Joplin´s spirit! This is the best version of this nice overture.

  • You're very kind!

  • Wonderful performance, sounds a lot like gladiolus rag, I wouldn't have thought this would make a good piano solo but you proved me wrong.

  • I'm glad to prove you that! (For Joplin)!

  • @pianiplunker lol why wouldnt it make good piano solo? Joplin wrote the entire opera for voices and piano, then began orchestrating it later (he never finished though). He also had published this as a piano solo in 1911 along with "A Real Slow Drag" and "Frolic of the Bears" from the opera. Joplin also wrote purely classical music which unfortunately is now lost. ive played this piece quite a few times and love it, so charming!
