Excellent Video Greg!! A little correction on the retinal diseases you were mentioning....It's Retinoblastoma which for the most part is a tumor inside the eye. As for the other disease it is Coats disease can have similar presentation of Retinoblastoma but not cancerous. I do retinal angiography and I'm really impressed you brought that up in this tutorial. Great job again!!

@wishonamoonbeam I doubt it. You can try putting the camera in manual mode to see if that works. I always recommend buying the camera manufacturer's speedlight as your first flash, its much better to learn with.

@wishonamoonbeam it might work but it probably won't communicate with the camera, so everything would be manual. you may want to upgrade to an SB600, which can be found for about $150 used.

@deadkennedys909 Its all about how/when/where to apply everything you know about photography. A little bit of flash goes a long way and a lot of the time you don't even need it! Its definitely overused and that comes from the way our cameras are programmed on automatic mode.

@rudrugis I am not a fan. I believe too many people use a single modifier as a crutch instead of having multiple and using the correct one for the job.

@ElgenHD Same here, I ended up breaking that lens, so, a small pocket strobe should work alright, just diffuse it and it should have some nice results, and also, don't torque that zoom ring on that sigma, they are rather delicate

@Xndingo11 Slower...1/60th 1/125th etc. Anything above 1/200th (1/500th 1/1000th) may prevent the flash from exposing the entire image. This is also camera/flash dependent as I mention in the video.
