Carl Lewis took steroids as well because he competed succesfully like 10 years in a row in the 100m, 200m and longjump. So he had to do a lot of training to be able to compete at that high level. Anybody who doubts this is a stupid ignorant mofo.

A race for the ages. Greates concentration of top runners in any 100m final IMO, plus epic animosity between the two made for an unforgettable showdown. It's not fair to say that they were all on the same drugs though, that hasn't been proven. Johnson never came close to this time without them.

I'm sure we'll see the sub 44 Wariner back next year, he's already run 44.13 this year! And I agree that Wariner wouldn't beat able to beat a healthy MJ but his consistency alone would push Johnson IMO. Johnson's strongest competitors (Butch Reynolds, Quincy Watts, Steve Lewis) earlier in his career simply weren't consistent enough to push MJ even though they were also low to sub 44 quarter milers.

This would not have helped him run fast and would have slowed him down. Does this video look like he is being slowed down by something?

Stanazolol is detectable in the urine for upto TEN DAYS in the urine after a SINGLE 5mg dose. Nobody (men) uses just 5mg, more like 10x that amount, EVERY DAY. Obviously using more than 5mg, would mean there would be more drugs noticeable in his/whoevers system.

The biggest scandal of those games wasn't Ben Johnson. It was that Carl Lewis (and others) got off scott free and had the gall to accept the gold medal fraudulently. Lewis had failed a drug test administered in the U.S. which should have disqualified him from competing but money talks and there was too many big corporate business sponsor dollars, and U.S. national pride, on the line. At that level of sports, it's only cheating if you get caught because the field is full of cheats.

A race for the ages. Greates concentration of top runners in any 100m final IMO, plus epic animosity between the two made for an unforgettable showdown. It's not fair to say that they were all on the same drugs though, that hasn't been proven. Johnson never came close to this time without them.

Men Ben is the MAN! I dont care about his drug use. Every sprinter uses drugs. He was the most powerfull sprinter I ve ever seen. Well now Usain is faster but Ben ran 9,79 in 1988! And if he wouldn´t have stoped before the target he could have run about 9,72 or even faster. Its depressing he is not about 20 years younger. He would have been a great rival to Bolt and Gay.
