The Union made America great. Amazing that we shot to first in the world in standard of living in the 50s. Now that the percentage of union workers has fallen under 10% in America, simply amazing that we've falling to 11th in standard of living. Countries like Sweden, Germany, France, and Norway are kicking our asses and their union employment rate is in the 70-90% range. Everything FDR fought for to allow workers to stand together has been killed by Reaganist conservatism and its killing us.

I agree with the old man.. take the health care burden off companies/corporations, and we're not in this position. The jobs bank wasn't designed as a perk; it was imposed on the employer to serve as negative reinforcement to counter shipping assembly lines to China, Mexico, and Russia.

The auto workers deserve a raise, more paid holidays, better health coverage and a better retirment plan. This will improve their morale and improve the economy. Thanks ahead for all the thumbs up people.
