I love dm. And i agree with some people that dm wasnt exactly.invented by death( although i love death) i think they just progressed the idea and made it more noticeable. But grindcore bands and hardcore bands before death were on the border with the new style of music. Credit where credit is due. Keep it metal guys. Metal and DIE!!
This is some really awesome stuff. And yes, most of the early dm bands are highly influenced by punk, thrash, grindcore etc. But everything has to have a start. It's good to see something that shows that Death isn't the "real" first or whatever. Although I respect Death and their work and influence, I don't like it too much.
Great gems here. To answer someones question, First Wave death metal is heavily thrash influenced. It was in it's embryonic years before it became what it is later on.
@Beckonor I suppose you could say that. Although, death/thrash is in its own little group, but there is no denying it had a rather large influence. Stuff like Protector, Incubus, Sepultura, Slaughter, LoD, and Blood Feast for example are not completely death, which is odd they would be mentioned in an first wave of death metal colab.
Always into expanding my collection man. It's videos like these that really help spread the tunes. May have never heard some of them if it weren't for the video! Cheers!

Awesome list. I knew there were death metal albums that preceded Scream Bloody Gore.

While this is a fantastic list, a good deal of these bands are death/thrash or just thrashy death.
