  • nice tap...

  • I havent had any leaking problems yet. maybe your unit is defective you might need to get a new one.

  • do you have any problems with it leaking mine leaks around the main seal and i have replaced it still wants to leak everything is clean but leaks every once in awhile witch can be bad when you get up in the morning ant there is only 10 gallons left in the tank it was a big mess.

  • gonna get a 405 for my 90 gallon do you reccomend it?

  • @TheMysteryman334 I would recomend it only if you are gonna use a skimmer and a refugium with it. The 405 alone is not good for saltwater tanks. the only good reason for the 405 in saltwater is for the carbon. You need to keep it clean all the time though becuase the waste can build up and that will lead to high nitrates in your system. I would honestly get a carbon reactor or just use chemi-pure elite in the sump instead of spending 200 dollars though.

  • @fadifanous its gonna be freshwater saltwater is too expensive

  • why would you rinse the rings with tap water...ur supposed to rinse everything off in tank water to keep beneficial bacteria

  • @laxplayer3690 The reason i clean them with tap water is because this is a saltwater aquarium. The bacteria is present in the water and the live rock therefore killing them off the biomax doesnt really matter. it will be replinished quickly.

  • doesn't the chlorine in the water kill the bacteria on the biomax? i would probably rinse it in aquarium water in a bucket or water with no chlorine. they also do not last very long at all out of water.not criticizing just saying . hope your aquarium is going well!

  • You mention the poor design when trying to pop off the motor housing. It is actually a brilliant design. When you unlock the claps, push the clap downward. It will pop the motor housing off the canister. Try it out.

  • i like how tight the top fits keeps it from leaking

  • @413murdermass ya the seal is a pretty tight one, it has never leaked on me.

  • @fadifanous mines leaked 3 times so far, mines a pain! im making a video like this, i just shot it :P

  • @TheCoolPickles Replace the seal it shoudlnt leak mine never has!

  • @fadifanous its perfect, ive had it off before, but when i pull it all apart and try to put it back toghether i have to literally stand on it until the seal will get in, and when i come off it, it comes back out :/ i got a fx5 now so it doesnt matter as much though

  • Bad design? All you have to do is push the latches down and the top comes off very easy by using that screw driver to get it open you are risking damaging the seal and the O ring ... Hope you already know this by now

  • @djruth62 some*

  • @djruth62 It might be a good idea to invest in a RO/DI system. It will save you a lot of money in the long run specially that you are spending a lot of gas to get it. Check out the guys at thefilterguys(dot)biz they have soon really good deals and are very helpful.

  • @djruth62 I have been using tap water to clean my filter and pads for years and as you know from my vids my tanks are all doing fine. I don't know who told you that, but from experience tap has been fine. Also I don't know how bad the tap water is in your area so I can't really tell you how safe it is to use it where you live.

  • @fadifanous

well.. the guy who told me that, is the same SOB selling me the RODI water ofc..

but I´ll now use your videos to show him what the deal is :D

  • Thumbs up for Tunnel Vision :D hehe

joke aside my friend. its really ok to do all that with tap water?

reason i ask is i drive prettty far for RODI and i use a filther pump like that to feed water into my refugium..

was told only to clean the pads ect in RODI..

its costing me a fortune in the long run. :S

  • @djruth62 I use tap water to clean my 405 and I've never had a problem.

  • @djruth62 i would not rinse with tap water because the chlorine will kill the good bacteria on the biomax what i do is i rinse it in a bucket of tank water

  • @413murdermass I agree. I recommend using old tank water to rinse anything out that might have beneficial bacteria on it. The chlorine and cool water will kill off any beneficial bacteria. If you use cold tap water, you have just been lucky. You may experience a re-cycling of your tank.

  • any baby clownfish updates or any new vids of the 90

also do u have a skimmer or anything? If u remember from my tank videos i have a big open space there so i buy BRS carbon and gfo and put it in there so therefore i use my fluval for the sponge pads and rubble rock with filter floss

  • @Phantomg23 I have a red sea prizm skimmer on the 90g. i use miracle mud so I dont really need a big skimmer since I have a really light bio load. i will be upgrading my skimmer soon though becuase Im adding more fish. I think Im gonna get the bubble magus NAC7
