For me Kiss is Paul and Gene, I also love the other guys that have been in the band, all of them did it pretty well at the time they should. I know most of the people miss Ace and Peter, me too, but come on, Eric is a great drummer and an awesome singer :)

I always "favored" the original lineup (never nuts about Simmons' theatrics), but Thayer and Carr hold their own, and I can respect that. These Unplugged recordings were great. It looked like the 6 of them were having an awesome time performing together, as the group did back in the early '70s. As per their musicianship as a band, it doesn't matter, they were fun and great entertainers.

He is an Paul McCartney style bass player who uses melody counter melody and walking bass quite well. If you listen to the KISS discography front to back including Sonic Boom you will hear a good bass player. He has influenced plenty and help make the bass player more than a guy who stands in the back... so step off!
