im actually leaving on tuesday for rio and carnaval i have been to brasil many times but usually to sao paolo in the rural part but i will be in rio and basically when stepping out especially at night do not dress flashy or wear flashy jewelry, always always be aware of your surroundings and try to travel with someone or people. Brasil is a beauty and intriging country, very goodlooking culture. It helps if you learn the basics in portuguese.
