There is something so incredibly lyrical about a room below you submerged in water, it's just so suggestive and then you have the sting in the tail; a decayed, drowned corpse's head touching the bare soles of your feet, ouch and wow.

Just as Jessica Harper in Suspiria, Irene Miracle would have been so great as the over all main character. Why did Argento chose to have her butchered in the middle of the movie and chose instead stupid characters to lead the action still remains a mystery...

@Catedee87 Yeah, I agree, but I read somewhere that Irene was not feeling well and had a severe case of hair loss (alopecia). So that's why Argento (and Bava) choose to kill her character earlier. He pulled a "Psycho"-moment on us unspected viewers.

And to think of the fact that Argento also was sick during the making of the film (he had a case of hepatitis and was most of the time bed bound.

Not his happiest time I guess.

@ButterflyQueene07 Yeah, that's why Argento casted Irene for this perticular part. Irene is a skilled synchronized swimmer, I read it in Argento's biography book by James Gracy.

Highly recommended for us Argento fans!
