U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E AND HORRIFIC.........I had heard about this years ago but never knew how horrible it was until watching these videos......question is should I brush my teeth with that particular toothpaste now... or use that particular laundry soap, or use that particular shampoo or cologne, hair gel , or shaving product....guess not anymore....
(I wasn't trying to critisise your video or anything btw, you've done a really good job here, and I'm learning much more about what actually happens to the animals tested on. It's sad. :( )
@stardazzleabbi3 I understand what you are saying, they do help with cofidience and I love makeup just as much as the next person...but if it comes between taking the life of an animal and wearing makeup, I'd pick the animal. What I'm trying to say is that there are so many wonderful, natural cosmetics out there, there is no need to test at all anymore. So we can look and feel great and end the suffering of animals. Its win/win. My skin loves my natural beauty products so much better anyway.
@veggiebeauty :) Yes, there are many great companies, and I believe what you're doing is a really good thing as so many people are unaware that companies they may buy from test on animals. I'd do the same as you (in relation to picking the animal over the cosmetic!) because I think animal testing for cosmetics is just plain wrong; especially as there are other ways to check the safety of products we use.
I agree that animal testing for cosmetics is wrong, and I buy cruelty free products, and yes, absolutely, we don't need cosmetics to survive unlike medicine... but cosmetics are important for humans so we can feel GOOD about ourselves... there's so many people out there who rely on cosmetics so they can feel good about themselves, especially teenage girls (in my opinion). I don't think cosmetics are all 'aesthetic' and 'purely fun'; I believe they help people feel better about themselves too.
@stardazzleabbi3 Agreed, but she makes her own makeup that's so low key to make, like nothing harmful, that once I learned all this from the video, I saw that it really is unnecessary killing a shitload of animals..not saying it in a tree hugger kind of way. More as in that's a lot of time and medical equipment/skills wasted on just being LAZY using unknowing harmful chemicals in makeup when it doesn't even need to be there -_- I hate people.
@footballchic121 I've seen conflicting info on revlon in my research of the company so I cannot gurantee that they are truly a cruelty-free company. Also, I've emailed them my form letter several times and never got a response back, which usually indicates that a company is hiding something.
@veggiebeauty They loved it. Thank you soo much. I even had a few people coming up to me after with questions about what brands don't test, how do I go cruelty free, ect.. . It was really cool. Thanks for the help :) <3
Thanks for this video Kristy! I'm definitely going to share it with my readers. :) (Hope you don't mind!)
I love that you get all of your facts 100% correct, and you really do put in the time and effort to research companies (as do I!)
I know people think going cruelty free is difficult, but in reality there are TONS of great brands, and there is a cruelty free brand for every price range.
If they have to test HOW TOXIC it is on animals then imagine how bad it is for humans? Poor animals :(
Amen Kristy. I have found that many companies will give me vague answers AND/OR will just skirt the issues I bring up in the contact email, even Avon told me they weren't testing on animals when I KNOW for a fact that they are now testing. I am new-ish to the cruelty-free cosmetic/beauty YouTube scene (started my channel back in Feb) and I am continually learning about animal-testing. There is SO much to know. Thanks for this video. More information I didn't know about. <3 Every steps counts.

I'm glad you're here to inform people! lol I know that people know about animal testing but I don't think many people know like, the details, and what actually happens, so I'm glad you speak the truth and help to educate people!
@MistandMidnight Exactly, we can al make differences in little ways, and hopefully that will lead to the vegan lifestyle for more people. I know once you start getting interested in animal rights, everything always ends up back at veganism...at least it does for me.
I didn't watch the whole video because I also just can't handle it. :( It's so sad. And it doesn't even make sense to me, like, just because you test something on an animal, that doesn't mean it's okay for humans. Jeez, I wish that people cared more, and I wish there was something more I could do.
@alis0nhick3y I know its sad, but if we are informed its easier to stop what is happening and educate others. I stay up a lot of nights thinking about this stuff...the only way I can sleep is to take action in whatever way I can. I think just doing your best to avoid companies that test and to share what you know with others will keep the chain reaction going, and that's how we can make a difference.
i had to stop this video before any pictures came up because I just can't handle it, but love that you did it so people can see just what they are buying into when they purchase something tested on animals.
@barbiedlux I'm glad you watched it....I don't have that many pictures....most of the video is going over facts and what actually happens to them. Its sad, but the information needs to get out there. I'm glad you are doing so well with using cruelty-free products and the dupes you and grace have come up with are very helpful:)
This is so sad =( I had to stop watching only bc I always cry when I see things like this and I dont want my crying making my baby feel bad. I only buy elf now, bc thats the only cruelty free brand I know. =/
@BettieJoe88 there are so many great cruelty-free brands you can purchase from...I know some are expensive, but Madd Style has affordable vegan cosmetics and I have Pumpkin and Poppy cosmetics now to help out:) I find I love my products so much more knowing I didn't have to hurt any creatures to enjoy them:)
great video...i think you should re upload this because there was that youtube problem where people weren't seeing their new videos in their subscription box. more people need to see this video and thank you for making it!!!
Thank you for making this video...I don't think people realize how much animals are used, not just for food but for ridiculous reasons such as cosmetics. Thank you for putting this message out there. I will look into that eyeshadow you were talking about- I have bought some things off of vitacost (because I didn't want to support mainstream cosmetics) but I will do more research on who owns these companies. Best wishes to you, keep spreading the word!
@RummyMummy urban decay is on leaping bunny, and aren't owned by any companies that test. They also own hard candy, who are on the leaping bunny list too:) I also make vegan, matte shadows too at my artfire store.

Exactly why I don't buy cosmetic products tested on animals, or household cleaners and products from companies who test. I feel very good about my decision to vote with my $, and have encouraged others to do the same.
@MrForapurpose we'll see if that goes through or not though....L'oreal and a few other companies are raising a stink about it.

This is such an important video. I am still learning about animal testing in cosmetics and I recently have really been aware of what im buying.
the same way I learned about where beef came from and i could no longer eat it /cook it/ look at it. without thinking of the animal.
I have 5 rabbits and lots of other animals i love dearly and the idea the people test just makes me very upset.
