Wish Garry had joined in on the chorus though: this and Seven Nights to Rock are the only songs where I've ever seen him doing backing vocals on. He is an amazing player and gets overlooked by most all but the biggest E street fans. Great footage. Saw him play this in MSG in Nov 2009: best night ever!!
Thanks for posting this. I just saw him in Portland, OR, and he did For You, and Lost in the Flood... stuff from way back that you just never see in concert any longer. I was beside myself, not believing that I was there listening to the boss and seeing this song performed. Not since 1974 had I seen him do this in concert!
He has done this at least 2 or three times every time he has toured...he did it again in Philly for the first time on this tour. And it was the best performance Ive heard and seen in Philly this year. It was the cleanest version I have ever heard ...he played it in Connecticut, NJ,& NY but came nowhere even close to this years version at the Spectrum
Gotta love the fans who turn and tell people what song it is. Sorry buddy, everyone there already knows or else they wouldn't be at the show. Bruce is all die-hard
I was there too--this was the night with the Green Shirt and when he forgot the lyrics. I remember Kitty was the last song because Bruce had put his guitar back over his shoulder and the crowd thought he was doing one more song and started cheering. So he tried to get the guitar off and Clarence pushed it back, and they did one more song. It was GREAT.
guess he wanted to get on the radio; can't blame i suppose---then he wanted stripped down music for his philosophisin'... but yeah, it doesn't get any better than kitty's back, and i also wish he'd churned out r&b extravaganzas like this from time to time, but hey, its a treat to watch this---- from a fellow e streeter
world wide web & i cant find a fuckin studio version of this song springstien rocked for a while but faggots are faggots& springstien fans are fags

That's because you can't listen to "some" Springsteen - when you've heard "some" you just have to get all of it! Then you're a die-hard!

Wasn't this the night of The Green Shirt
and the night he forgot the lyrics
and needed to consult Steve and Patti on stage?
