  • Awwwwwwwww noooo he was too young

  • Haven't you ever seen 1 squirrel chasing another around a tree? They ain't playing. The one in back is trying to run the other off for territorial reasons. They have nuts and mates to claim as their own & are just protecting their food supply or breeding rights.

    It's called survival.

  • @doughesson Lol trust me I have kept squirrels for over 30 years, when you see a squirrel chasing another round a tree trunk it is usualy a male chasing a female. It normally only happens when female is on heat.

They will have scirmishes here and there also over food but they do not try to kill each other, sometimes we have congragations of about 30 in a wildlife bird sanctuary and all get on great together with each other and all other wildlife, feeding with the birds, video up soon!

  • @MrNativeDancer I've seen a squirrel get torn up because it wasn't from that area and was recognized as such. They fight meaner than cats do.The only time I have released squirrels and they were able to remain was that they were female & presented increased breeding opportunity. You see the same things in humans when a woman takes a job somewhere.....

  • squirles eat their wounded, therefore when i see a wounded squirrel, i kill it. its a mercy kill.

  • That squirrel is a fucking cannibal we have to tell the president!!!

  • it looks like the other squirrel was trying to do CPR to save the poor squirrel

  • @BodhiZypher

That is ridiculous. Not all animals are equally smart. Elephants have huge brains even for their size and can be trained to do amazing things. Elephants have great memory too and are really emotional.

A squirrel is nothing more than a rodent, a tree rat if you will with a tiny brain. Squirrels are dumb and never learn from their mistakes, hence the can walk into the same trap again and again.

Comparing a squirrel with an elephant is ignorant to say the least.

  • @AlexDeLarge90 There are quite a few studies that show squirrels are quite intelligent. Rats are also quite intelligent. If you dig around, you'll find plenty of info.

  • @AlexDeLarge90 Actual size of brain matters little. An ethologist looks at brain over body ratio. But minute differences latter ratio aren't important either.

Animals with greater variety of social habits are generally smarter. Social vocalizations like laughter are inherent to rats & great apes, & arguably, to squirrels. Squirrels do share altruistic behavior with humans/other mammals, pigeons show comprehension of concepts.

Most human cognitive processes are found lower on evolutionary ladder

  • I had an incident like that, we were at our house when we just got back from our ranch when we saw a dead squirrel on our trailer

  • tbh, this is natural selection, this squirrel was obviously shit at climbing trees.

  • @BodhiZypher Elephants have bigger brains. They also have memories and will seek vengance against a remembered tormentor.

  • "Ok Jimmy, you can stop playing dead now. The hawk is gone!" O_o

  • bob come on i know your not dead :D

  • just goes to show ya...one minute you're playing in a tree, the next you're dead and you got a squirrel tryin to bring ya back to life...i see it everyday, such a shame....lolllll

  • This is so amazing - quite touching. I love the squirrel in our neighborhood.

  • its asleep!........... :,(

  • little furry demons

  • I have watched squirrels eat their dead brethren on multiple occasion in Woodburn, Oregon. They were ground squirrels.

  • @BodhiZypher Elephants have bigger brains. Squirrels also have no comprehension of the danger imposed by a car moving towards them. Thats why they are always roadkill.

  • i was eating a cheeseburger watching this...i should of ordered a chicken sandwich as well :(

  • Is it wrong that I hoped for a little cannibalism?

I feel a little let down.

  • It's sad.....:-(

  • Why didn't you shoot it? I shot one today that was by it's nest and more came out to help it, I managed to get 2 lol! It's so epic watching them fall from the tree with half a head.

  • @TrueMMO did you eat them? if not its a waist

  • @101martial

Fuck no. I went inside and ate human food.

  • it looks like the squirrel died from that squirrel giving it too many blow jobs!! just look what its doing throughout the video!¬!

  • Squirrel died.. from falling out of a TREE?? Major squirrel FAIL!!

Darwinism at work, that particular squirrel won't be passing any of his squirrel-failure genes to any future squirrel generations

  • so this is what i have been reduced to, watching dead squirrel vids! haha

  • HES LOOTING IT FOR GOLD

  • BETRAYAL. BETRAYED. Incase you didn't realize thats from halo

  • VERMIN

  • thats hilariously mest up

  • nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom

  • O M G THA SQUIRREL ITS EATING THE OTHER S Q U I R R E L OMG P OO R S Q U I RR LES

  • @geffski Yes. This is another reason why I'm Deist, and do not have a religion. I believe in everything from the Big Bang to evolution. The only thing that truly makes me a Deist is that before the Big Bang, an omniscient being sparked it, but otherwise, I do believe the Universe was created about 14bya. Apparently the bible likes separating humans from animals. Also, I do not believe Jesus, Moses, or Muhammad had any supernatural powers. I just believed them as being figureheads; nothing more.

  • It probably dies because of sqaids

  • frecky

  • LMFAO @ the comments and info..Thank Walt Disney for that I guess...

It's eating mites, lice, and fleas before it goes on to raid eggs and chicks from the local song bird nests.

SardonicusRexx is almost right...the "Grooming" is looking for food

  • evil squirill eating geoff

  • sad but oh well shit happens

  • Cannibalistic squirrel! That's how the spread of rabies happens... Then before you know it, the zombies attack! No joke, I have a plan for when they do

  • Lol "Screw this" *pulls out rifle* O.O

  • Going through his pockets.

  • so sad, the squirell is kissing the dead squirell goodbye

  • at least the squirrel didn't try to have sex with his dead partner...

  • is it eating the dead squirrel???

  • how did the squirrel die? omg did you guys poison it or something... leave these creatures to the nature ok..

  • did u read? it fell to its death.

  • Read the description, genius. It says right there that it fell off of a high branch.

I will never understand why people ask questions before checking the video info... you'd think it's the obvious thing to do.

  • its trying to do CPR... maybe its the squirrel wife or squirrel dearly husband... aiyo...so poor thingy.. wanna cry

  • SQUIRREL CPR

  • I'm sorry man! I didn't mean it that way. I said it in a joking way!! SORRYYYYYY

  • Wow, how could you not detect the sarcasm in that?

  • I think you're being sensitive to something like that. I am only a guy online. Why listen to me?

  • SARCASM!

  • "haha"

Isn't it fun to watch "dumb" animals suffer...

That squirl is actually doing a heart massage, as taught by Walt Disney

  • lol he doin chest compression tryin to do cpr not eattin it

  • hs eating it not carressing it

  • why dont u make a burial? dig up a hole put it in a nice soft box and burry it and say RIP cute squirrel

  • I had a pet squirrel. They are some of the most emotionally intune animals I have ever met. My little guy used to come crawl in my lap when i was crying and he'd lick the tears off my cheeks. when my husband was away, he would sense I was lonely and he would sleep curled up underneath my chin in bed with me.. he never did that otherwise. They are amazing, social creatures that feel very deeply. I just love them

  • rofl

  • Must be his girlfriend. So Romeo and Juliet. Notice the way he caresses her and close his eyes tight as he mourns her. This is too sad.

  • maybe they was a family?

  • Neither of them comprehend death. Death is a social construction, and an ungoverned body, as far as we know, doesn't have that construction

  • wow i am surprised the other squirrels are not eating the dead one. I have seen numerous species do it like squirrels and ground squirrels and prarie dogs ect.

  • thats kinda sad.. im crying squirrel tears from them other

  • actualy thats kinda sad poor squirrel

  • thats weird.... one time a squirrel fell out of a tree in my backyard, coushoned by leaves and grass. he hit the ground, froze for about 5 seconds and then ran like hell up the nearest tree he could find

  • I think it just wanted to eat some fleas and didn't concerned itself with minor and insignificant facts like - whether the other squirrel is alive or not

  • super sad

  • how can a squirrel just fall and die?i have never seen something like this and i also have never heard that a squirrel dies a natural dead.especially in america.i guess, both did play and one got shot by a squirrelkiller.and because they did play seconds before, he was looking why his buddy did stop moving!

  • That is grooming behavior. Squirrels, mothers and offspring, will groom each other, but usually when they're both still alive. The live one probably doesn't know the other one is dead.

  • He's not eating the other squirrel. It's grooming or similar. They can reciprocate this like with primates. He probably thinks this may help get a response. My squirrel does something like this to wake me up.

  • @SardonicusRexx That's another connection that shows that rodents and lagomorphs are more closely related top primates than canids, felids, horses, bears and many other animals. Rodents and lagomorphs are in the same super order (Supraprimates) as primates, trees shrews, and colugos (flying lemurs) are in. I have a pet American hooded fancy rat named Millie. She’s very acknowledging and intelligent. She always starts jumping at me me, from her cage, when I arrive home from school.

  • @SardonicusRexx WHERE DID YOU GET A SQUIRREL?!!?!?!

  • @SardonicusRexx woah thats tight you have a squirrel... i always wanted a squirrel :/

  • @SardonicusRexx i nuzzle my boyfriend in the morning in the back of the neck, he wakes up, and rolls over...i get squished...does that count? lol poor squirrel

  • @SardonicusRexx wtf you have 1 alive squirrel and 1 dead one. you sleep with squirrels. you creep.

  • This is sad, sad that the squirrel died and sad that someone would sit and record this... twice.

  • i don't think he knows what he's doing because he's just a squirrel. evolutionarily, i suspect the tail shake is for territory defense (or possibly a mating signal), and then it looks like he's grooming the other squirrel, which is a friendly signal, probably because the dead squirrel didn't make any aggressive signal in response to the live squirrel's signal.
