DO you have to get that tight with the Scope? I'm an Airsofter, and for our AIrsoft G36 Scopes, you have around an Inch of eye relief to see everything in the Scope. Is the Real Steel any better?

@77blitzwing I think they considered a variant of it in the XM8 but decided it was not the big leap ahead of the M4 they wanted. IMO the M4 tends to be underrated while H&K tends to be slightly overrated. Larry Vickers critiqued the G36 & the things he pointed out caused me to downgrade my opinion of the G36. I'm not trying to say the G36 is a piece of crap because it's not, it's a fine military rifle, but everbody's expectations of H&K products are so high its rep does more than the rifle.

@oeyesea The XM8-Project was not stopped because it was not much better than the M4, it definately was off the charts, but because, in the eyes of the US-Army, it was just too expensive. And because of the fact, that the XM8 was constructed only for the US-military, they stopped working on the project.

Yes only the Bundeswehr has the two Visor, Reddot and the HKV

It's a little bit more difficult, there are two versions, wich basically are the same rifle, the G36 and the G36E. The E is for "Export" and it has some differencies, like a different fire selector. And I thought that the HKV was another difference, for it is not included with the E version. Guess I was wrong...Oo

@espenmannen Its possible, that this is the reson why the shots arent zeroed well. Maybe he has zerpoed it at about 20°C, and there its about 30°C. SO the barrel is deformed by Heat (whch every Metal does, as it extends)

Really MG36? THe MG36 was supposed to se 7,62mm Ammo. This one is 5,56 i guess. Its only a G36 with Bipod and Beta-C-Magazine

Lithuania has ordered G36 as the main battle rifle for its little army. The version is without the optical viewfinder though due to weather conditions (rain, cold, etc.). Judging from all the reviews and opinions it's one of the best rifles to date.

Why do you have to keep pulling the handle to charge? It should have a bolt release on the side. It will be slower for reloading.

I have watched now several videos of the G36. In this video the rate of fire in full auto looks and sounds very high. In other clips the rate sounded much more moderate. Does the rate of fire differs among G36`s

Can't tell how sturdy that handle is,

1. Haven't even touched the real thing.

2. Our Army choosed G36KV with elevated rail, it's not exactly handle and is much more thicker.

After all, even if brocen, rifle still works. Our guys have mentioned, that folding buttstock's plastic fixation details wears with time.

we got the g36 in the spanish army; in our trials, it did significantly better than the m16, galil, fal 2000 and others. but I tell you this: the handle goes easily broken.

moy son had the FN SCAR in Afghanistan during 3 tours (3*6 months); not official rifle from the swedish armed forces but the AK5 failed.

The HK-416 seems the way to go.
