This soundtrack gives me the shivers, I hate that people think the soundtrack from Requiem for a dream is better cuz its definitly NOT! i tell everyone about this movie, too bad it got such bad revieuws, since its a GREAT movie!!!
Requiem did have a good soundtrack, but The Fountain definitely beats it. I also think a lot of people simply didn't get The Fountain, and it's complete and utter uniqueness, making them hate it.
Today's modern audience don't like unique. They like generic remakes....

It's a bunch of time frames and universes into one. When he returns.. is just his mortal (Earth) life in continuation of the story. I've only watched it once, and don't completely understand it.. so don't quote me on that analogy.
The Conquistador tangent is not real. The story starts in the present and Izzi asked him to finish her story, so what is shown is his idea of "the end". After she dies, he finds the cure to live on and try to resurrect her as the tree... or something... so really, the story is linear, the scenes just cut back and forth.

this really sounds nothing like the one on 'i am legend' trailer. the 'iamlegend' version is more intense. this one is more like something at an opera or something.
it's the same song. the song is 8:30 minutes long. If you listen to it from the 5 minute mark until the 6:30 mark you will see it's the exact same as the I AM LEGEND trailer.

You have a good structure here, and you had alot of potential, but you didn't quite deliver. When the music explodes in G minor, you should have more stuff showing, not just what it showed in the movie (i.e. him exploding in the star). I've thought about doing a video like this, and I imagined that i'd have ALL the most explosive images from the film during that time, switching to a new one on every beat of the music.

Clint Mansell is an amazing composer in general. Both soundtracks are spectacular and have some of the most amazing music I have ever heard.
