the axe fx is a really good gear but to expansive. I just got the POD HD500 and i really glad with it. Well about the Shimmer effect, i think that Line 6 sounds better, closer to edge's shimmer.

You own a M13, i have one too but the POD HD500 is everything that m13 is plus amp modelling really good

I used to get a similar sound with a boss delay/pitch shifter/ harmonizer (the metallic blue one) with another delay set on swell..

@petesand15 never owned one of those but i have the xt pro and it cant do it. I would take a guess and say no way with the X3 but maybe someone can chime in. A Pog or Hog will do this sound no problem

What settings are you using to get the organ sound at the beginning. Getting that amount of sustain seems to be the key to a few sounds that I wish to create.

octoberguitaru2, the Axe fx is basically a very powerful computer in a 2space rack unit. It has bar none the best amp simulations ever created. We're talking leaps and bounds above any Line6, Boss, whatever that's been out before. It also is an effects unit, and we're talking TC 2290, or high end Eventide effects quality. The M13, while a good stompbox modeler is not even close to being in the same league as the Axe-fx. But it is much cheaper too.

i dont understand what axe fx is. is it a software on your computer that you have to download your sounds via midi to the pedal? what makes it better than just an M13?

From my understanding so far into looking into the product. It's a multieffects unit [amp modeling too]. It has a way better processor, which means that the quality of the models and effects are much "better". The pure versatility and array of choices make it awesome. but it comes with a hefty price tag

with the verbzilla but not the a3, the a3 is really only good for songs like Numb and the big one is Mysterious Ways

For your live rig, are you going mono or stereo.... is the sound greatly degraded with mono?

mono as i use alot of delay and dont want to get into phase issues. Certain etheral patches work better in stereo but in a live context with a band it doesnt make that big of a difference. Playing live i suggest mono all the way unless you have a good sound guy who knows to pan the stereo signal
