Only the 5th and down, because if you'd play the E string it would become B/E because the bass string has become an E instead of a B. (The Chords usually get their name from the bass string)

@xobabie1 Bm is easy (just bar 2nd fret and form the Am-shape), B (the one shown) is very hard for people with fingers thicker than 1.5cm. Same goes for Bb.

oh almost forgot just incase 1st finger means index 2nd is your middle 3rd fingr is your ring and 4th is your pinky for the B major alternate i posted

if u have promblems reaching barring the 3nd fret up to the 5th chord just do this instead its a alternate B major n u can try both if u want n its the same note

1st finger on 2nd fret, 1st string

2nd finger on 4th fret 4th string

3rd finger on 4th fret 3rd string

and finally ur 4th finger on the 2nd string 4th fret

and only strum 4th string down dont strum the 5th open. this is much easier and will give u the desired sound.

Just don't grip the entire guitar neck with your thumb. Instead, place tip the tip of your thumb on the middle of the neck. This way, index finger won't be a problem. Also, just practice. ;)

you should look to do exercises for every type of playing there is ,,,look at like this you have 2 hands your left can hold chords ,,slide through notes ,,bend notes ,,hammer on ,,pull off ,,your right is the rhythym and focus on strumming ,,finger picking ,,using a pick ,,down picking ,,up picking,,alternate pickin,,hybrid pickin,,and percussion ,,,devolope simple very simple exercises for each one and practise them slow ,,,again until you ache ensuring your muscles remember ,,,,

try playin this shape or any shape you struggle with half way up the neck hold it for 10 mins until you ache and ache then keep getting closer to the open position until you can go no further ,,,,,when struggling with chord shapes dont beat yourself up cuz it sounds bad ,,,,its all in the muscle memory ,,,hold the chord you struggle with and bounce it up and down a little,,but dont play it just squeeze and squeeze for 10 mins and repeat as often as you can ,,,same goes for anything

i know this sounds the easy way out but i assure you it is not ,,,,try flatening the 3 strings with your pinky ,like a power chord but cover the B note with 1st finger and the rest with your pinky and numbing the bottom or skinny E,,,,the hendrix shape ,,,im an acomplished player and never play the B like this guy ,no dis respect meant ,,,,your hand shape should look like when rockers make devil horns with there fingers and say ffffin rock n roll,,,

Trust me, just keep trying. Practice playing the b major chord EVERYDAY, and within two weeks you'll notice improvement. I just started this in like October, and by practicing the chord daily (and the song I wanted to learn had a b major in it so I had to learn it) for at least 10-15min my fingers got used to the awkward positioning and became more flexible. DONT GIVE UP!!

I have managed to learn F, but I have pretty much had to accept that I am physically unable to do B major. My fingers cannot reach the second fret from the fourth. I am pretty sure that this chord was designed by a squid.

DON'T GIVE UP!! I had extreme difficulty learning this chord, and I'm still working at it, but after practicing everyday I have noticed a very significant improvement. You just have to attempt it everyday even if it like 5-10 min of practice.

@AAreborn Okay my friend. I myself had the very same problem with both of those chords. For the F chord, learn how to position the F with your middle, ring, and pinky finger. Then you are ready for the F. Make sure when you are Barring the Fret, make sure your thumb is at the bottom of the neck. Don't press to hard, you'll eventually get it.

@AAreborn Now, for the B Chord.. This one was pain in the butt for me. Learn how to position the A chord with your middle, ring and pinky finger. You're now ready for the B Chord. Barre the 2nd fret, then USE YOUR RING FINGER TO BARRE THE A CHORD (not yelling) and make sure your thumb is at the bottom of the neck. This way is a lot easier. :)

Don't be discouraged. The B Major chord was and still is difficult for me, but since I've been practicing everyday, my fingers are getting used to the positioning. It takes time and intense practice.

The eyes of an adult are much further developed than the eyes of a child. This video was designed for the slower refresh rate of a child's underdeveloped eye.

Most adults won't be able to detect the video frames in proper sequence with the audio tracks. In some cases the video will appear flipped horizontally with negative colours.

Hopefully this youtube channel will make an adult version sometime in the near future for us 18+ year-olds

Nah. It's probably you have less flexible fingers which be trained over time, so F/B shouldn't be too hard.

I don't think it's a matter of "big" or not. Most likely the problem is finger flexibility which will be trained over time. You can help train it now with exercises spredding over four frets and practicing holding them down with each finger.
