hi mate i agree this as just a bit of tunning done, its got just over 200bhp at the back wheels but is geared for off the mark, its been sat in my garage for years , when it was on the road it could get to 60 just under 5 secs which when i built it in the 80s was quite lively , but yes great looking car and getting rare nowadays , i will have to do something with it one day , thanks mate merry christmas
in my opinion Manta A is not such a good car to put a V8 in, if i were gone put a V8 in a Manta A i would rather have a agressive V8, than a cruiser V8, sins the Manta A has a very racing looking body.
but nice car though, it must be in a really good condition!
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
I notice you've removed the vents off the rear quarter and it looks much better for it. A couple of months back a mate of mine was just saying that the vents were the only bit on my a series he didn't like as he said they look like an afterthought. Nice car mate, sounds great too!
this is my favourite car...in 1985 there was a black opel manta in the philippines that they made into wide body...so nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... they showed it in a car show but i never saw it again after that
hi thanks i put the rover 3.9 in around 89 this as stood in my garage for 10 years only got it out and running a couple of moths ago , got a few photos yes
Beautiful Manta! I have two Manta myself (-72 and -74).I´d like to put v8 in my car too but in Finland it is imbossible!! No way to get it on street in this country.
