In almost all episodes of Addicted I've seen, those people aren't only addicted to that one particular drug. They are addicted to nicotine as well. And just because cigarettes are legal...doesn't mean they're not harmful.

Saw this full episode on tv. She invites a bunch of her friends over and she gets drunk and she breaks a glass and they have to stop her from taking more shots because she has poor self control. She does this on a weekend her parents are gone. Then her parents come home and she tells them she drank and then she gets all emotional and crap.

Personally, I am not much of a drinker. In one year, I might have something 2 times in that year, and it might be a glass or 2 of wine or beer, but that second glass is usually poured out.

No, I don't think that I am better than any of you. Sometimes, I just have a taste for it.

In my humble opinion, people don't drink because it tastes good. They are truly in pain!!!

AA is a joke.....they make money off of pain!

AA is like a cult, and studies have shown that it is ineffective. Penn and Teller did a 'Bullshit' show on it.

If you want to quit just get your friends and family involved, tell them you have a problem and you'd like their support.

Ah, no, if you have an addiction problem, asking your family to help is probably playing into already-existing codependency problems.

I'm personally not into the Christian bent of AA, but there are Atheist AA meetings out there as well.

It helps a lot of people.
