There's no irony. She says "Brad...Hey Brad...Not Brad." Close your eyes and really listen to it. In my movie, Brad had called her the night before on her Verizon phone and asked her out; but upon seeing him ("Hey Brad!"), she is reminded that she's just not that into him, so she decides not to return his call ("Not Brad."). How does your movie go?

Or perhaps she saw that brad was close by and didn't want to offend him, but as soon as she got away from him she revealed she actually didn't want to call him.

I gotta say I don't necessarily think chinBoston was looking for continuity but possibly pointing out the humor in how the commercial is done. It has a sense of urgency to get of the work environment and into a free environment (Verizon Unlimited of course) and it was done in a single shot.
