oilycassandra, "comment pending approval" ? how disappointing. you are aware of a few facets of information that are not given much attention by the mainstream media. do you suppose this all the information that is being withheld? do you want to be disillusioned? or, do you really not want to be disillusioned? what year is the predicted date of peak oil production IN THE UNITED STATES? Can the blind lead the blind? - J.C. -
Depends on if you believe in Evolution or creation. IF you believe in Evolution, it is more like trouble, but if yoyu believe in creation only, then the earth will produce it's own oil.
I am assuming you are a geologist and have work as a scientist study petroleum data for years???? You are just repeating what armchair authors have written about peak oil. Have you actually been out to the oil fields i.e. Akal Mexico, etc. Then how do you know we reached peak oil???The answer is you don't, Someone has brainwashed you to believe we are running out of oil and the sky is falling. the truth of the matter is no one knows, big oil companies are artificially inflating cost.
True oil companies are in it to make dollars, that is what they do. True new fields are being developed all the time. Yet the large easy finds of yesterday are playing out. Here in Alaska they are bidding to explore off shore in the Artic Ocean. This is hard work and very costly -- if their was any easy oil to find they would not try for the Arctic Ocean. Who benefits from Oil Company profits -- we do the average joe who has a share in a mutual fund, pension plan etc.
LOL! Good way to get the teeny boppers and Brit fans to this important issue. Not that they will listen but you never know. I guess you don't think electricity is good either but I just got done watching "who killed the electric car?" and got pretty angry. I feel like a jerk that I didn't even know this happened. If the GM EV car would of been mass produced instead of purposely destroyed by congress, big oil, and GM. Would that have helped us with our dependence on oil greatly or just a little?
Thank you so much for donating your intellect, creativity, passion, beauty and your excellent speaking voice to the most important message in the world.
I just sent it to a few thousand peeps. Thanks for educating the masses about our energy reality! I think we all need record and upload our own Oily Cassandra vids.
What is holding back advancement with sabotage and misinformation are the oil/nuclear corps and profiteering elitists who don't want to dilute their energy monopoly whom buy off government officials.
It seems that it's not an energy crisis we are in but rather corporate exportation and government corruption.
In the end... Necessity is the Mother of Invention.
If we have oil shortages within the next few years, necessity will not be enough to fix the problems. We needed a decade or two of preparation to cushion the transition. Waiting until oil is expensive & in short supply means a depression: no jobs, collapsed stock market & not enough money to invest in alternatives or buy new cars. The scale of the problem is huge and exported oil will decline quickly. Irrespective of the reasons, Cassandra paints a bleak picture because we are not ready.
Many homes already are fully solar, Europe has fully Hydrogen Cars and fueling stations, New Magnetic Wind Tech has been produced, 'In 2006, 26.5 % of electricity generation in Iceland came from geothermal energy, 73.4 % from hydro power, and 0.1 % from fossil fuels.' -wiki
How much food does Iceland import & what happens if there is not enough oil to power the cargo ships?
I have been working to make my home sustainable and environmentally friendly for 17 yeas. I have PV, solar hot water, a wood stove & a clothesline. I have not completely eliminated my use of propane & my vehicle uses gasoline. My house is made from & filled with things that may not be available or may be expensive without cheap & ample oil. Conversion is not as easy as you imply.

If 4 billion people won't survive then the fuel shortage will have a correction and prices will drop as the demand won't be as high. Problem solved!
